Well it's not "just speculation", as they themselves say it on their own official release post that "Different endings and routes will be narrowed down to just a few. That is why this is your last chance to make a few more crucial decisions before Jennifer's story comes to an end". Why would this fourth episode be the last chance to make few more crucial decisions and why would they be even hinting the end of the story at this point if the game wouldn't be ending anytime soon?
But here is speculation part: they have already announced that Lust Theory Season 3 will be totally different from the two previous ones, so now that they are indicating that they could be ending this one soon, I wouldn't be too surprised if they were actually going to replace this one with Lust Theory Season 3 that would be NTR one, because the timing would be really fitting as this one would reach the end pretty much at the same time as Lust Theory Season 2 is going to end. Plus, they have non-canon "NTR" bonus content in Lust Theory already, so it wouldn't be anything too huge.

Lust Theory going NTR would be fucked up, i don't think any series should take a big turn like this, too much time invested on a character for it to start going sideways...
I think Jennifer(specially her) and others from here making guest appearances on other Inceton games would be awesome however, she's not one guy gal anyway.
Doesn't the story progression end, when she breaks up with her boyfriend, because it solves the initial conflict?

Depends how they would do it. Like if they would make it like female protagonists game like this one and in a different kind of setup where LT's main character never pervs around them, then I don't think that would be too big of a loss. Whatever it is, the way how they act towards their current games is just giving the really strong suspicion that they are pretty much done doing the ones that are working on currently. LT for Season 3 they are going to twist to totally different than what it is now as that has been confirmed by them already, they will end Summer with Mia to the on going second season, this one they are hinting to be ending soon too and they are sharing some hints about their next big games on their Discord...I would say it's a possibility.

I remember those days. Although by 1989, I believe I was using Compuserve or AOL or Prodigy?
I had a Commodore 64. AOL didn't exist but their predecessor Q-link did.
to that kind of story ends when female mc is fully corrupted and do sere a world without her sex master/masters
like she would end as a private secretary of the school principal and help expanse the school and at the same time she would honeypot other girls for the principal. Not for her gains but for the fact that she would be so corrupted and sex driven that she would see sex or even a sexual interaction with the principal as the ultimate reward in live .
and she is not there yet
also the time skip with any of the routes and we would see simple glimpse of milf Jennifer and teenage(18 for legal rasons) daughter going on her adventure opening the dross for the sequel(next game)

I bought my first computer in 1980 from Radio Shack. A Tandy. It had the 'full' 4k of ram and used a cassette player for storage. Not exactly the best way to store programs. Lots of cussing back then.
A long ways from the graphics from games like this one.
I don't think there's more to it than them coming up with something, so they can keep doing their usual game progression. Pretty much all of their games are a string of teasing and petting, until they finally get to the sex, because that's how they keep their patrons engaged.
Jennifer turned into a slut and has broken up with her boyfriend now and the last update of Lust Theory had the threesome that's been teased since season 1. The usual Inceton game progression is done for these games, so they've got to tame it down again to get back to the petting.

Yeah there will be a big twist near the end and there will be season 2 where we have to start all over to go through the petting.
They really didn't have commercial porn games then, amateurs would make them, there wasn't much you could do and of course graphics were terrible compared to today. The disks then couldn't even hold 1 MEGABYTE! I still play some of the old (non-porn) games with an emulator.
