regarding the most recent update - I will be infinitely disappointed if this just turns into another story where you go back to your own world at the end.

I would much rather end up being a mage and learning how to harness my magic and travel wherever I wanted. It would also be very very annoying to have Rae and the Main Character just go back to his world and she loses her magic and becomes a 'normal' girl. Yeauch. That would be a terrible bad and stupid ending imo.

Sadly with rae's silly fascination with the idea, and the whole 'your sun sucks the magic out of everything in that world' excuse, it looks like that's where this is going. blaaaaaaaah. not fun at all.

I agree with you. I think the best of both worlds would be that all the various routes (if there is that option for single romances) would have you join their world with the exception of Rae since she seems to be into yours. Maybe the harem ending would have you all figure a way to go between rifts on a permanent base with the house being your new home for everyone.

Probably we'll have separate endings based on which girl you like the most. Because i tried to imagine a harem ending and the girls' personalities need a common ground, which during the game is "being stuck in that house in the rift"

Remove that and what we'll have: Naomi is a pirate and not someone who would settle down(Imagine Isabella from Dragon Age), Caitlyn would go back to her magic school, Lyriel would go back home(probably) to her family. Yona i don't know enough about her to predict anything...but by the way she considers the other girls, she may stay. Rae like you said, would join MC's world...you think is bad and stupid, while i think it's bittersweet but romantic because she is willing to give up her powers and her connection to her world, just for MC which is sad but cute, imagine loving someone so much that you're willing to give up so much for them, i find it wholesome although a bit bittersweet(in the long run)

The only solution for a harem ending would be connecting the House in the Rift, to all those worlds (something like the Door-Hallway in Matrix 2) like: a door is connected to Rae's world, another one to Naomi's ship, another one to Cait's school, and so on for Lyriel and Yona; And even then, i feel the house would be mostly a resting place rather than an actual living place(aside maybe for those who have a routine/predictable life, like "go to work -> go home -> rest -> Go to work".

I just prefer my women dainty and sweet, having Naomi as one head crushing amazon was enough for me to fill that spot already.
I obviously have no idea where Zanith will take her story, but I can see the possibility of her becoming more like that. Yona's already subservient to the MC because of her past culture. While I'm not a fan of "anything you want, master!" type of stuff — I'm fine if it's just playing around in the bedroom, but in normal life it's annoying, to say the least — this does put her in a position of being more receptive to the MC in general. If the MC decides she needs to learn that she's not just a breeding mare who "does her duty", that he sees her as an individual and worth immeasurably more than she personally thinks she is, I see a lot of potential in a great relationship going forward.

if the main character really loved rae, he would not let her do it. If it turns out that way, it's a bad, terrible, and stupid ending, and nothing you can say will change my mind. (*and i'll knock 1 star off the games rating in my review if that happens)

I don't want to change your mind. I'm just expressing my subjective opinion on that kind of ending. So far we don't know MC's plans for his own future...or i don't remember them, so far MC is learning etherwalk to find a way home...and at the beginning he wants to go home...but now? He lives in a magic house who produces/teleport food in the fridge, he has access to unlimited money if he ever wants to shop for luxury/pleasure, he has a home that it's literally NO-WHERE xD meaning that he doesn't have to pay taxes about it. The house itself conjured a backyard with a pool. There is a library filled with books, the living room has a tv that works. Personally, i would sell my soul just for the house itself, add to the mix a bunch of wholesome people...and it's basically my dream: a peaceful life surrounded by people i enjoy spending time with XD

Let me put it this way, you are a demon, immortal, magical being, with endless amounts of time to go and see and do anything you want. You meet someone from another world who has vast magical power to travel to practically anywhere they want, and they can create complex items out of thin air, and you choose to give that up for... Tall buildings?!?! What sort of idiot would EVER make that choice?!

And if the main character just wants to 'get home' he is an utter moron. and if that sort of ending is forced on the player then i feel perfectly justified in knocking the rating down in my review. And i really like this game so far, but a bad ending that is rammed down the players throat can entirely ruin a game.

that's the "power" of love for ya.

it's irrational, often stupid and blinds people's minds.

I'm just a sucker for that kind of ending...because i'm a dreamer, i idealized love, because i wish someone in this depressing world, would do that for me(although even i admit that it may be a regrettable choice)

Also nitpicky here: MC doesn't have VAST magical powers...otherwise the visits to the various worlds wouldn't be so brief XD For now he is training to be like that XD

Nope - that's the power of a lack of creativity.

And the main character DOES have vast magical powers, he just has to learn how to harness it properly. This has been observed by many other characters throughout the entire game, and many of those characters are in positions where they are qualified to make those judgements.

.....immortal.....
I cut everything else out, because this is the key word. She's immortal, and (as far as we know, right now) he isn't. That could change. For all we know there is no way to ever completely leave the house, or maybe no one ages in the House and everyone that choses to stay can live together forever. Enough time hasn't passed in-game for us to know and if it has been mentioned, I missed it.
Her choices are (again, based on what we currently know):

1-Leave him now/at the end of this story.
2-Watch him grow old and die, then live with the memories for eternity
3-Give up her immortality, and grow old with him in his world.

I'm not saying one makes a better ending than the others, there might even be some sick bastard around here that doesn't want to stay with her, just pointing out the options that are available based on what we currently know.

The whole 'growing old' thing is entirely optional and definitely NOT a foregone conclusion when dealing with powerful mages. Again - a lack of creativity.

Anyway - i put in my two cents worth on this particular issue. i'll have to wait and see what happens and edit my review at that time.

Yep, we all do. It is all guesswork right now.
Although I must say, the instant I saw the story headed this way several updates ago, my interest in this game dropped precipitously.

It's the same old tired story trope that gets trotted out over and over again.
- boy meets amazing girl, girl decides to give up being amazing because they believe that's the only way to stay with boy.... so bland, not interesting in the slightest, and usually ends poorly. (and in this case, Rae seems to be more fascinated with the tall buildings than she is with the boy! utterly ignoring the players choices and ramming down the stupid path - because. .. oooooh tall buildings!....)

The more I see that storyline, the more I dislike it and think it's stupid, and the stronger bad reaction it gets from me.
Why do authors seem to think that makes a good story?..... it's just so bad.

then....do like everyone who is done with a story: quit it.

Do you know how many stories i quit on this website alone? No you don't XD because i don't go around writing toxic comments about it(this is a wink to those who try a game, write "this sucks, i'm out" in the comments while they could simply quit without whining, like i do XD)

I mean, you even gave a decent series of comments XD who are rational, you actually gave us a series of good points XD

The only reason I post anything at all in a thread is if I like the game and want it to improve. I can get a bit rough however, (likely a product of my demonic heritage ;) ) When I see something I don't like, i rather unapologetically let people know that I don't like that thing. And in this case it particularly bothers me because I actually care about where this game goes with it's storyline. And yes, you do catch more flies with honey than vinegar. I may have let my frustration at this particular type of storyline get the better of me. It really is a very over-used plot type, I want better!

Is anyone else finding the morning tea with Rae repeatable? Can't seem to toggle the scene again. I went to see her everywhere and the option for morning tea doesn't appear.

Granted I did cheat for money. Could that be the issue?
