VN Ren'Py Maid to Please [v0.14.2] [Tutbork]

At the moment, it's just a hobby. I have a full-time job and other things I want to do in my free time besides this. I devote what time I can to Maid to Please and we'll see what kind of update speed I can keep up. I might do a Patreon; even hobbies have expenses and who knows what lies in the future. Right now though I don't think there's enough content to ask for anything.

That is decent and answer and healthy and realistic look to it. I honor that.

Jack is slightly over 6 feet (184.5cm) and Beth is about 5'11 (179.5cm). While not a towering giant, I don't think Jack qualifies as short anywhere in the world.

However, it's my fault that he and Beth seem to be the same height. There's not many pictures (yet!) with them close together, and in at least a couple of them I've made newbie posing mistakes where Jack's feet are partly sunk into the floor out-of-camera.

There's also some dodgy images in the intro in the MC's bedroom. Don't even get me started on those.

We had the illusion that he is shorter. Not only from the gym scenes. But other scenes as well. Especially her intro scene.

Let's say she is 185 cm with high heels but stands more away from us, the MC. It looks like he is 175 cm.

But these are little things. Important are the sex and kinks scenes and a story which keeps it simple. (Yet you have mentioned Chekhov's gun)

Well I re-rendered 20ish images with Jack at his proper 102% stature. Wasn't that much work since I didn't have to change anything about the images, no posing and such things.

They'll be in the next update (0.2.1) that's already finished but I'm gonna sit on it until march 1

I have hopes, dreams, aye even visions for using the name. Visions I tell ye! What about the uncle who always calls you Jackie boy, or the jokes that are possibly only funny in my head. There's some song related ideas and possibly other nickname usage.

Ah well maybe I'll make a little poll when I release the next version and some people see the thread. Something like:

A. I want to use another name. I don't care about some references/jokes losing their meaning.
B. I want to use another name. I don't think you should have any references/jokes related to the name if they won't make sense with a new name.
C. Wow I had no idea you've got visions and dreams, by all means, let it stay Jack.

You may think it silly, but a little thing like choosing the name matters for how players perceive the MC, and by extension the game as a whole.

Having a MC with a set name strengthens the impression that this is a pre-defined character whose story we're permitted to follow but not really influence to any significant extent (like a kinetic novel), while being able to pick the MC's name helps give the player the impression that this is our character to mold as we see fit (more role-playing).

It's not the be-all end-all, but it colours the players' immediate impression of the game.

It's definitely not silly at all. We all have different likes and dislikes. Different ways to immerse and different expectations from a game if we're to enjoy it.

To me, it's a bit surprising that so many comments are about naming the MC, maybe because it's not something I personally ever do.

Currently it would be very low-cost to allow changing of the MC's name since there's nothing yet that uses the name for anything specific. I did have some loose thoughts on future content where it would have some meaning though. Guess I'll have to give it some serious thought!

Either way feedback is always appreciated.

I would choose C, because Jack is the name I use in all these games where I get a choice.

Yes. All "normal" sex activities will be in the game (we all consider anal normal, amiright?) That is for hetero and lesbian sex. The future tags are meant to give a general idea of what fetish content that can be expected on top of that.
