I am absolutely clueless playing tcnd: ex.
Good morning Daddy, going to school, sleep, maybe that's all you can do in this game so far, but 0 interaction about what you could or should do, maybe it makes more sense when the game's ready....
Don't know if I follow this game by then, it sckd hard enough to wait for this game to get to the point of 'new content', because if you've play the first demo, you played 80% of this game, and there's no reason to believe that TDNC: ex would be different, even then with the story already know, why bother.
Tdnc: ex should've be the game he started with right away though, like that you can go your own way, but more clues please
Affirmative, dev gave up after 23 episodes and that storyline is now abandoned. The dev claims to have been planning for :EX version since the beginning of the last 3 years. The only releases from now will only be for Class Next Door:EX, which so far is a poorly executed free-roam
Yes, currently this pointless free-roam is just annoying.
The dev had to post a "How to play" tutorial (see the download section):

but it doesn't help very much.
After the first day I had to unrpa the script files to find out how to progress:
The e-reader is in the car.
I hope the dev will improve all this.

It doesn't look good as far as improvements but good for a shit show. I wanted to give the EX version a shot but it's pretty much the demo with a daily grind style tacked on. The dev keeps claiming EX was his plan all along, but every detail is tacked on after the fact. He claims both long-term planning and spontaneity as his development style. His latest post is pretty hilarious, related to the dialogue he's gotten a lot of flack for...

"There is something silly and amazing about writing like that; I can go back and read old episodes and it almost feels like someone else wrote them. Some people have complained that I don't follow typical story structure and that my dialogs are not like in real life.

In my defense, I should tell you that I'm not trying to show you the real world; I'm showing you how the world in my stories look like. I follow narrative structure but at my own pace and with my own quirks. Some have complained about my dialogs; they say "Who talks like that!?" My answer is very simple... they do, my characters do; that is how the talk in the world withing my story."

Honestly the dialogue did seem to improve a little grammar-wise but nothing near outside the realm of robots bleeping "hello, good food, yum, cute, time for class, hi MC, yes past troubles, sleepover?" There's one moment where the youngest, Emily, says "I unabashedly support all first-responders like policemen." LOL

That is by far the dumbest reason i heard so far, for bad, shallow, robotic dialogues...
But i'm not surprised to hear something along these lines from this dev.

Is this dev for real? The "game" was already not that great, only plus were the female models he used, some of them were quite new/not overused by other devs. The story was not a slowburn but a total "I kick your blue balls and don't care" slowburn. But then throwing everything he archieved so far over board to implement a shitty executed free roam style without hints what to do and close to no story? And what you can find is still the same content from the first few releases, glued together that you have still the VN style it was before the free roam. Honestly: F*** IT. I'm done. Ignore list. Dev, you screwed up big time. You should just quit the torture of yourself and stop developing this mess. You won't get anywhere with it. And your excuses don't work. Just stop it. The world will be better without this trash.

I'm glad I came to read these comments, so I know that it's not just me.
And I'm not outright opposed to a "slow burn." I've played -- supported, even -- grindfests where it took a long time before anything of note happened.

But when one of the biggest sources of relationship progress in your game is while the MC sleeps*? That just feels broken to me, game-wise.

(* - Why would this even affect how the girls feel about you, anyway? Are they spying on your dreams?)

OK, so I just saw the update on F95zone, read the OP which doesn't say much, downloaded and started the game, saw that old saves are incompatible (it's always worth a shot to me to just try it and see if it works), so I read all posts in this thread back to January, but it's still not clear.

Can someone confirm these?
1. Players must start a new game to play this update.
2. The new update is a new game, which is a continuation of the story from the previous update, but with a completely different gameplay style (sandbox vs. VN, etc.).
3. The new update has a decent amount of new content (not reused from previous updates).

I gave up on this some time ago, and I'm glad I did. If the sex had been "real" and not "dream sex" I think it would have had a lot less negative comments and maybe even more players.
