Don't sweat it, neither do 90+% of the people who complain about it on this site, or whoever wrote the tag definition.
The literal translation is something like "to have [one's lover] taken away via sex". It's a very specific type of cheating, where one partner is, initially, raped or coerced into it, but finds themselves enjoying it much more than sex with their partner, and it eventually becomes consensual.* If it's presented from the primary victim's viewpoint, the thrill comes from watching them grapple with the resulting guilt, shame, and denial until ultimately embracing the pleasure; if it's presented from the viewpoint of the secondary victim, the... "thrill" ...comes from vicariously experiencing their feelings of betrayal and despair at witnessing their partner thoroughly satisfied by another. (In the former cases the cheating may never be discovered by the secondary victim; in the latter cases it necessarily is, otherwise there'd be no story.) If it's presented from the viewpoint of the person doing the taking, it's not netorare, but the closely-related fetish called netori. (That would be your "Grolokk sneaks into high society and bangs out some stuffy dude's hot, younger wife behind his back" scenario.) And then there's a third variant called netorase, where the secondary victim is actually in on it, often without the primary victim's knowledge; this is the closest version to the cuckoldry fetish as understood in the west.
(Note that I've used gender-neutral language because so-called "reverse NTR" stories where a girl steals a guy from another girl exist (and for all I know yaoi/yuri NTR is probably a thing too), but the vast majority of the time the primary victim is female and the taker and secondary victim are male.)
*even this isn't entirely accurate though, because there are NTR stories where the secondary victim is just pining after the primary victim rather than actually being in a romantic/sexual relationship with them, or they're family (with no incest going on, though again, the secondary victim usually wants there to be); in these cases the sex is often even entirely consensual from the beginning. It's a really hard fetish to describe in a way that is both accurate and concise.

The impression NTR has always had for me (and why I can't stand it myself) is it's basically emotional torture porn. Starting from the rape/coercion to kickstart the story continuing through the point of the genre being to wallow in guilt or despair depending on who is the POV character. To add to that, it's steeped in purity culture (which seems to be the part that the people that throw tantrums in game threads about how X element in a game makes their peckers sad and floppy have actually picked up on) which just...if I found that purity culture bullshit convincing, I wouldn't have walked away from Mormonism when still a teenager, flashing both middle fingers back over my shoulders as I went.

Excellent description, I feel too many get caught up in "NTR" and other tags. This is just a fun and entertaining game and story line. Clever tongue in cheek script and wonderful fun art. Keep up the good work and keep us entertained!

I was thinking of both. That shared mindset seems to be the common thread.
From what I remember, you can get gossip by talking to the guard at the bridge, going into Myradonna's tent, and by talking to the old lady at the shop. A couple of them make you do something in exchange for the gossip.
First RPGM game I've played that doesn't suck*. Quite the opposite, in fact. Still a shame it's in the RPGM engine or that the RPGM engine generally sucks so bad. But the writing, art and effort to create actual gameplay more than make up for it. This is shaping up to be one of the best adult games out there in any format. This sort of gameplay would not work out in RenPy either, so I can definitely understand choosing RPGM for the game, having just one lone dev and zero budget.
I blazed through all of the content in less than a day and this game has now gone to the top of my list of updates to watch out for. Well done.
Only other complaint: WTF on the dark tan-colored dialogue text? Heavy readability issues with that. Either make the text white or bright yellow, always with a shade box.
*(Yes, I've played Mad Father and I've also played blah blah blah, and also that other porn game in RPGM that you recommend. Still didn't like em).

One of the character Myradonna's original designs was a black woman. It didn't make the patreon vote, but I did quite fancy it and am planning on reusing it at some point for another character.
I am working on it currently and am planning on having something out by the end of June or early July.
