Current Demo for the New Engine FOBS has 13 Girls most of which are remakes of the older ones. The Monkey Girl and Kapa can be fought currently the rest are static akin to the gallery but they do damage
Mega Link for the Demo
(Linux user here) I tried running this new version of the game on virtualbox using a Win10 VM. With 3D graphics off it doesn't work and with 3D graphics on I have mirrored/reversed graphics that are weird. I did not manage to run games like that with Lutris/Wine yet, though Unity games run well for me with Lutris i.e wine.
I did a bit of research, and I believe the game's engine is called cocos2d-x. This should be open source, cross-platforms and work on Linux, with a bit more knowledge or help. So there must be solutions for both Linux and Mac users here. I do not know them yet.
Do you have tips for setting up wine properly to run it, or to create a .sh file to execute the game instead of the .exe? Thank you

Edit: I somehow managed to make it work with Lutris, using Glorious Eggroll's version of Wine. What I did:
- Add the latest wine-ge-custom from GE's Github, to the lutris/runners/wine directory(the github page explains how to "install manually" that)
- I copied some random pfx folder from a working steam game using Proton, located in "steam library/steamapps/compatdata/XXXXXX(the number that corresponds to the game you want)/pfx" and copied that pfx directory somewhere else
- (In Lutris) Add a new game manually.
- in "game options" tab, Link the executable to your game's .exe, then
- link Wine Prefix to the pfx folder's copy
- In Runner Options, select the lutris-fshack-X.XX-x86_64 option, which is the GE thing you installed earlier
- click "save"
- Lunch game

And it worked for me. Hopefully that helps someone.

"lutris-fshack" is NOT the glorious eggroll edition of WINE it is a copy of WINE setup by lutris developers
you mind zipping and uploading a copy of that pfx directory or specify which game you used? I tried two different ones and one failed to start at all and the other got as far as displaying a window before crashing.

this version works more than the one from fantia itself (suspect WINE doesn't like japanese characters in the folder name?)
got it as far as technically running but unplayable due to severe graphical glitch, can run around, press A to flash etc select things in menu but nothing is actually displayed except these static images

How I got this far:
  1. installed all listed dependencies to escape WINE hell
  2. install Lutris
  3. download GE custom edition WINE extract and place it in home/.local.share/lutris/runners/wine
  4. add player.exe (from game folder) as a WINE game to lutris, select Lutris-GE-Proton as runner

There are different demos but the only difference between them are the enemies, and for what I know you can only see their defeat scenes like you said.

About the room with the tv ghost I think you can't exit once you watch the first video on the tv, I don't know if you meant that

Im not so sure, when i checked the gallery after basically finishing the game, there seems to be some space left over for more characters. I dont have an image to attach atm but if it truly isnt possible to capture them then I suppose thats it haha
Quite a bit aren't capturable unfortunately, that was the project he was working on before, now he's more focused on his 2 games he's charging money for. He was doing forest of the blueskin for free, he still has plans to continue making content for it, but the bigger projects he's got going on atm: Shiro no Yakata, and Succubus Affection 2, are the main focus atm.

The big reason there hasn't been any updates is what I said above, but also more importantly he's been redoing the whole game in a new engine. That's taking quite a bit of time, more so because he's focused on those other 2 games atm.
