The dark path for Brittani photo shoot was intense. I consider myself a connoisseur of fucked up porn, but that was too much even for me lol. It was too real, and seeing her gradually go from a bubbly girl full of potential to a broken mess was hard to go through. I mean, I still fapped to it, but I'm probably gonna go with the happy or neutral version of the shoot for the run.

Maybe I'm not too far gone yet lol. I always did find it kinda hard to go through "sad rape" scenes (ones where they are crying and traumatized). I prefer the "happy rapes" like in hentai where they eventually get ahegao'd and enjoy it. Of course, that doesn't fit the rather realistic tone set in this game, but I think I'm also fine with situations where they aren't completely broken. Like submissive Nicki route is pretty mean, but she does maintain her spunk and takes her situation surprisingly well. Gabby and Ashe are feisty and doesn't break (at least not yet).

Just thinking out loud here. Not a critique of the game. The game knows exactly what it wants to do on the routes and it's done amazingly well. Real fucked up on the hardcore routes and pretty fucking wholesome (but still kinky) on the good routes.

Honestly, I'd really like to redo the code for the first two chapters, but it'd force everyone to restart their games.. Which isn't ideal. But, it may be better than continuing to build on a shaky foundation.

Well, better to do it sooner than later then I guess. Overall it's not that big deal (starting from the start) when game is straightforward VN imho (some with mini games are pain to start again > >), the skip button was made for something after all.

Just don't forget big warning that old saves don't work just so half people can miss it anyway and report errors.

It's not that long replay. But for smoother transition providing saves for every path I think would settle that issue.

So I always go for the darkest options possible and am loving what this game has to offer. Contrary to what others have said I love "sad" rape (in fantasy, in reality I consider it disgusting). So I am beyond excited for the implications of finding out Ashe's address!

Finally, just a little note on why I don't allow for huge story divergences, based on preference. For instance, would it have made sense to provide an alternative for MC to the photoshoot with Brittani? Like.. I don't know, MC encounters Mason and takes him to lunch, and learns all about his history. Easy enough! Oh, but Brittani's scene is kind of the main sex content for the update, so now I need to wedge some sex into Mason's scene. Oh well, just an extra 100+ renders. 100 x 7 minutes it takes to render an image, I'm looking at an extra 12 hours of rendering time, not counting what it takes to pose.. And then there's images to correct due to clipping, lighting issues, etc.. Call it 25 hours, and now I've added an extra week or more of development time.

I kinda wish people would try to do their own VN/KN just once to see how complicated it gets if you get too ambitious.

You also forgot to add in when you update your NVIDIA Studio driver and DForce decides not to work, but you don't know it was the update because you haven't rendered in a few days

Joking aside; I know what you mean. It would be nice to have an option for no relationship. But it's another path/branch to consider for the dev. I also think Nicki is integral as the story develops. I think treating her nicely is the better option if you want nothing with her.

People wanting fourth option for first scene with Nicki should remember that at that point MC has been in love&lusted after Nicki for a while. It's not always necessarily easy to turn that kind of offer down in that situation, even if you feel hurt by her coming to you for money.

Yeah, I've always stood by my initial stance that, without the sexual component of his meeting with Nicki, Guy would never feel that strong impetus to form a charity, and set the events of the game in motion. And I felt it would make Nicki's three-month absence less meaningful, in some ways. Having your best friend disappear after you either sleep with her or take advantage of her is one thing, but having her just dip out entirely after you helped her and asked for/gained nothing in return felt a little harder to explain.

But, I am coming around to the idea of making a friends-only path with Nicki, which would dovetail into her friend path that picks up in the beginning of Chapter Four. It'd require some extra writing and renders for a new path in Chapter Three and Four, and some consideration regarding where to allow players to re-integrate into the other possible paths, but I think it's doable. Right now all of Nicki's and MC's interactions assume a base-level of intimacy that makes them comfortable/apathetic to being at least partially naked around each other. So it'd need to be explained away to use existing renders, or I'd need to put them both in clothes. Or give them alternate interactions entirely, which could honestly be the path of least resistance.

So, we'll see. Not promising anything for now, but it might be nice to have a longer friends-to-lovers/bang-assistant track, now that more of the game is in place. When I wrote the first chapter, it wasn't a sure thing that the rest of the story would be told - I didn't have a PC that could run Daz effectively, I didn't know how to use Daz, and my ability to code a serialized story was definitely in question. As things have come together, it makes a little more sense to potentially give players the options of keeping Nicki as purely a friend.

Plus, I kind of like writing the platonic stuff anyways.. The other day I sketched out a loose idea for a scene involving Gabby friendship route, which I think will be really cute, once I get around to it.

Current plan is to have her reappear in Chapter Five, setting up her next big event in Chapter Six. I'd also like to write in a little bit where MC and reach out to her via the phone to show her how the photos came out. I already put them up on my Patreon, but it'd be cool to put them in-game, too.
