So now that part 1 is done and we're waiting for part 2, what is the general consensus for the combat mechanics; did the revamp make it do training all the stats is reasonably important or should the focus still be on health and energy levels?

Tbh idk how it was before the revamp, but coming fresh off of my first playthrough, i FEEL like Energy is exceptionally important, if only for the amount you recharge and so many flat outputs for it (in the prison, the AoE Windspell etc), but leveling Defense felt really powerful given that Wind doesnt scale off of Atk and I'd rather take less damage from 2-3 hits per turn vs sponge more, since you CAN get most enemies down to deal <5/10 damage a hit.
Didnt put much of anything into evasion, and only reasonably much into HP, to get to like 200/220 and that felt enough with high defense and stopped putting much into Atk after getting Wind (though Atk DID feel important before getting Wind and for the odd Wind-immune enemies).

But I'm just one dude, idk what others think, or how important it was before.

Will play a second run for Anti-Hero choices and focus on something else to see if it works tho, so maybe my opinion changes, but zeroing in on high Energy/Defense/Windskills felt really powerful.

Separate games, though if you keep the persistent data file, you will be able to keep all your data/choices/progress when part 2 begins, if not, there will be some sort of questions to define the past game.

2 in theory.

Also, the "alpha male" and femdom will affect dialogues, since a more submissive mc will be, more likely to apologize than the apha macho.

For Ginger, Karma and Whisper: Having sex with them. You can have their genex steal at that moment, or romance them, and get them later (in part 2)

The love.

Teacher, yes, a lot of times. Dragon, I'm assuming Melith, yes, she's fuckeable too.

You can get them by sending the tamed girls at the prison, to look for hearts.

Sorry about that. I tend to like killing to show some harsh reality when needed, is not like I'll kill a lot of them, but yes, some will die.
Ok so much be a route thing for ginger, karma, and the teacher. Question? can you ask lynx for her power or is it lock to stealing/not when you on a love route for her?

Imo max energy and levels is still the best approach, fuck everything else

If we steal Genex from Lynx, what do we even get? I didn’t notice any changes in the stats + the scene itself where we beat her up and practically r**e the Genex out of her is quite tough... Somehow my soul felt uneasy after such a betrayal, she’s a good girl and it seems like you don’t get anything in the end for this:cry:

To be honest, I'm rarely for fourth wall breaking, since its not done good in games.
I'll admit this one makes me smile each time I read it.
I'm glad the fourth wall breaking isn't used more, if he ever adds more I'm sure it will be done as well.

Before the rework Wind Storm was scaling off attack, so focusing only on attack was not only turning MC into one punch man, but also turning Wind Storm into a tactical nuke for but a 19 points of energy. Right now Wind Storm ain't a tactical nuke, but still can wipe enemies, but in two or three casts.

Going for anything than Attack and Energy is a death wish and allow me to explain why.
Combat is turn based, MC is fighting, almost always, alone and is quickly forced to fight with multiple foes. That means each turn MC is getting pummeled more times than he can pummel his foes. Sure, having high defense can decrease greatly damage recived, but it will just prolong the inevitable by being pummeled to death by weak foes, or few more powerful ones. Same goes for evasion, sooner or later an attack will hit MC and it will be painful. There is just no DPS in party to take advantage of MC taking a beating or gracefuly evading it, nor Healer to heal those wounds to justify putting points in defense or evasion.

In order to survive solo encounter with multiple foes in turn based combat you need to quickly dispatch of your foes. Each enemy killed means one less attack hitting MC, or one less roll for evasion, which means overall less damage.
And here comes attack and energy.

Sure, you can understand the attack... it's rather straightforward. The more you have it will deal more damage, simple as that. And that's the way to go. With high enough attack you can easily one shot enemies with regular hits. And if foe is more tanky a regular hit can be easily enchanced even with low level Super Strength to increase damage output and thus still one shot any foe, even for some health loss if needed.

Okay, so if attack is way to go then why energy? Well, that's simple. Abilities are using energy in order to cast. With increased energy pool you can simply cast more of them or use them for longer. For example, using ability to fly consume 50 points of energy per turn. That's a lot. And, to be honest, it's understandable. It's one of the best abilities to use, because it's making you immune to almost any attack, basically forcing enemies to skip a turn, thus making them free kills, but it also doesn't end your turn, so you can still attack.

By using a tactic of "Flying Storm", which is basically Flying and using Wind Storm, MC can quite easily wipe multiple foes without losing a single point of health if needed. Not you shouldn't tank with health though. Energy managment is important. It sometimes might be better to take a hit or two on your poor health in order to conserve your energy for a further encounters.

Also having high pool of energy is quite useful in clearing and upgrading the prison, which is really, really important if you wish to actually get new powers and increase your stats without losing a turn in the process of popping cherries.

And as for new powers, Foxy Speed is really powerful. Not because it increases evasion, but because each level is giving you 3% chance for having an extra turn! That's HUGE chance per level. And having option to hit your foes one again can easily end encounter without a scratch. It should be taken ASAP, either right before or just after the trip.

Increasing different statistics by other means than leveling is just wasting a turn, a turn which can be used to increase attack/energy or gain experience to level up. After all, time is rather limited to two actions per day and there is only 68 days to play. Increasing other statistics by leveling is just enough to keep MC alive long enough.

+4 attack
+4 defense
+6 evasion
+20 energy
+20 hp
and some extra regen.

sucks when they kill off female characters. i get the annoying feeling of characters we could have added to harem but we'll never get to because they were killed off. tends to be the kind of thing that makes me abandon games.
Which one died ?

Fun update.

Blaisdale After this update, did your fav L.I. change?
Change?
Actually yes possibly....

I dont know what to think about what Lynx said...
That makes me believe shes not a real LI, rather a side character who will never see that type of spot light and that she is fine with that.
(reference being when she tells you she loves you, that whole conversation)

It could possibly be just a passive remark, afraid to put faith in you relationship wise.
However the fact there was no come back line/choice to go further or push away,
leads me to think this is suppose to be a hint for you (the player) to get.

(1a)Which leads me to a pet-peeve I have with some games.
When you feel the game leads you too much and doesn't give you choice(s).
I dont think this game suffers from that but I could easily also understand trying to write Lynx as having no confidence
in personal matters.
Everyone can admit to being meek when they first enter into a relationship. So mixed thoughts on all of this.

Which means I default to Rei, which had a line of "if I dont stop it now, I wont be able to later"
That was a massive win to see that line for me. (or what ever it was, I dont remember it word for word)
As much as Incest can be Wincest to some people, Rei is more up my alley.

(1b)
Just as an example of what I mean..
Shattered : Main character talks about needing to exercise, doesn't do it.
You get a character as a gf, she tells you that "you're lazy and need to be a little more outgoing, even try to ask her out",
he doesn't do it.
The game is littered with that *groans*

Too many of the other characters have little story plot to jump on.
I haven't played the bad character "yet".
Before posting this I got done playing Companion of Darkness, so I am curious what a run of being bad will look like.

So far for my bad game play I tend to favor Lisha.
Though that can easily change when "villain" characters become accessible.
*cough cough* Ginger bitch who has my phone number *cough cough*
(Or Karma at this point)

However that ending scene makes me think the only real LI's are the students.
I really hope I am wrong on that!
Which since you have to choose one at the end, not to mention it makes writing easier if they are all located in one spot.

To be honest and this is "not" a knock at Fin/Reboot Love.
I am not a fan of location story based writing.
You run into the problem of what the story beyond that creates.

I.E.
1.) T.V. Show "The Order" They whole story line was based around the university. (aside from the end)
Yet it has to bend a lot of logic, to make a story work.
Yet outside problems rarely are introduced and other locations.
(massive problem with this plot/logic was the relic locations)

2.) Anime "Date a live" Problem being each spirit goes to the same school, yet bends logic as spirits stop going to class,
only showing up when story needs it, even though those actively killing spirits know about their school location classes.

With that being said a school starting is a great was to insert a lot of characters at once.
However much like this update it shows how your identity can be exposed so easily.
Which is something that bothers me about school or area based locations.
So I could see graduation being pushed down the line and your house switching to cave area.

You have a hospital, training, kitchen, cuties to help out.
So they could add a morning time for the sandbox.
Then you could easily do 1.) work , 2.) personal time with a person , 3.)reduce % (maybe not in the order lol)

One thing I have to say was done great,
When you pick which ever is best girl from the list they give you a slide show from them.
That was done in good taste. Well done on that.
Bolstered my thoughts of Rei being best girl (out of the school girls any way)

I think her power is passive; though I reverted my save after seeing how it went down. If you're playing anti-hero there does seem to be the option to steal her genex as you have done with most other girls up until this point when you consensually take her virginity. There was also the option to ask her for it; but for me at least the MC doesn't think their relationship has progressed enough to ask her for a permanent depower in order to make you stronger. In all likelihood at some point you'll get the opportunity to ask her for it in part 2 regardless of which path it is on.

Also, whether you're predominantly an anti-hero or a hero (vigilante playthrough hasn't reached this point yet) will affect what the MC will think his power could possibly evolve into once he learns about the double creampie activation requirement. Hero will suspect he may gain the ability to also heal genex powers he's taken (my guess is it would mean you'd get the ability to restore a girl's genex without losing it yourself) while an anti-hero will suspect that they're able to steal it entirely and completely depower someone if they want to.

And I'm hoping that my interpretation is correct since in the hero playthough (but not the vigilante or anti-hero) I did steal Ginger and Karma's (but didn't arrest them out of fear it could remove them from future content) since it could be a good way to eventually get them on your side, though you may need to capture and persuade them or something first, since the interrogation/torture and bdsm rooms look set to be content that'll get used in part 2 (perhaps the henchgirl with the shattered leg will be the first person to experience it or something).

Just started playing this game, and since the dev seems active in this thread I'll post my first impressions as I think of them.

First impressions

- Holy shit banger Main Menu music. When I first opened the game, I literally sat at the menu screen listening to the music for a good minute before starting the game.
- Very impressed with the options to turn certain kinds of content on/off. I'm not one to turn content off, but the fact that it's there for other people is great!
- Bonus points for the choice modifier option as well. One of the main things I dislike about a lot of Ren'py games is the fact I'd need a walkthrough to make sure I don't miss a route that I'm interested in.
- Now an hour or so into the game, and found my first issue. The MC and Kate naming thing. I decided to have Kate be my friend (since that's what she was since childhood, right? Calling her just a roommate or "roomie" is odd). So she's my friend, I'm her friend, we're friends... but the issue is the "what I call her" and "what she calls me". I want her to call me by my name, and I want to call her by her name... isn't that normal? It's odd for the game to be "Hi, friend!" or "Thank you, friend!" Like... who talks like that? So I wanted us to just call each other by our names, "Thank you, Kate.". The issue is when this is used in certain ways. An example of how odd it can get can be seen in the option screen to change MC/Kate's relationship. "So Kate is your Kate and you are her Aetheran. Kate and Aetheran are friends." .... yes.... Kate is my Kate. I am her Aetheran... thanks... that's not awkward to read at all /s. I don't want to call her by some nickname, I don't want her to call me by some nickname. IMO, there should be an option to just call each other by our actual names.
- Further along in the story. I wasn't sure about Erick at first but he seems like a real bro, I like him.
- Just got to the antihero/vig/hero branching part... I've glanced through this thread a bit. From the few things I've read, some girls are only available on specific paths? (I read the dev saying they can't see someone named "Ava" ever being available on the vig/hero path or something? I haven't met her yet tho). This... kinda sucks. I'm not a fan of being forced to replay a game because a specific path I chose doesn't have the LIs I'm interested in. Is there a list of what girls are available on what paths? Guess I'll stop playing for the night here and wait for an answer.

Overall I'm enjoying it. My only major complaint is the last point I listed. I don't even know all the girls yet but I'm being presented with a branching option that I have no idea what it locks me out of. It'll really suck if I pick one, continue playing for another X amount of hours before I realize "oh shit, this new girl I'm really interested in is not available as a LI because I picked this path."

Random question. Is it intended for the tamed prison girls in to have severely reduced trust/fear changes compared to before they're tamed? Wasn't sure if that was a bug or was designed to discourage going hard into fear and then switching them over to trust later. But it really is kinda annoying to have a tamed girl that suddenly gains severely less affection (what was 4, or more, is now 1 or 2) from the exact same action that you were doing from when they were still somewhat resistant.

But as mentioned, that did make the death more impactful and sold that scene as being a big deal. If you didn't like the person dying (and in such a limited number of frames), then you wouldn't care as much about them and the scenario around it all. Effective annoyance..? (Assuming everything on that side of the story is paid off well in part 2, that is.)

I'll be honest, I never myself paid attention because it just felt like a damn grind to me.
Just reminds me of the sims too much in that aspect, I cant be bothered its like
"Feed sim, keep sim levels good, rush to other part of the game and enjoy"

However I felt if you treated them well, your numbers should have gone up better when educating them.
Because then they would understand your intentions and help you with others and would see/understand the trust you have in them as well as appreciating the freedoms you would slowly grant them.
(I.E. going from pets , to walks with a leash, to then walking without a leash.)

I dont think its a bug, just less thought put into it possibly.
No proof on this, just feels like its a tacked on feature honestly.
