Why do the actual in-game models look vastly different than the character icons? The characters in the icons look amazing... the in-game ones not so much.

Because those images/icons are directly ripped off from the Daz Studio character products they belong to, but the character itself by other hand is or very baddly exported to the game, or it's not even said character at all...

Edit: Not even changed the characters names, if you search for each one of them in the official Daz3D store by their in-game names you will find the original products and btw i just checked the original product of that specific character(it's called "lali for kala 8") and it seems it's a broken export/import or he added additional morphs that screws up the character.
