It is not legit. The game on steam is not the original dev and they do not own the content.

I seen that and only if the dev or someone who has it from steam can tells us what is up with this.
Does the new content is the same as the old game or???
Did the dev take over the steam game???

Normally if someone steals a game and uploads it to steam there is no new content.

It is not hard to use UNREN to access all the content of a Renpy game and add your own content. I agree it would take someone buying it to see if it has new content.

Yes I know but normally the thief does not add to but try's to get as much money as they can before it gets removed or the original owner takes over.

You can look at the preview videos and see it looks like AI generated shit, same with screenshots. What those video/images show on Steam looks nothing like the game that is here and the developer made.

It was probably the same person who was pushing the Itch.io release that I reported.
