Personally, I try not to identify with a game's characters, that way I don't care if they get humiliated or worse, it's not easy sometimes but more entertaining to play. On one hand, we all want Ethan to be successful in his marriage and be the rock that anchors it firmly to reality while exploring and expanding the limits of their mutual union. While on the other, some of us would like to see him fail miserably, losing his mate, to his rivals.I'm curious where Ethan would fit into all of this. I could see an ending where she leaves Ethan and essentially accepts being one of Darrel's top queens after she realizes that her blissful romantic feelings about Darrel was not as mutual as she thought.

I honestly don't understand how anyone can play without identifying with the characters. In my opinion, that means the game is poorly written, characters poorly created. There are times I wish I didn't empathize so much with a character. But that just isn't me. I play these games specifically because they are (generally) character-focused and pull you into the lives of these strangers. It's not like I am playing a random online first-person shooter where I die over and over and have no connection to the character. These characters matter. And for the moments I am playing the game, the stories matter. In some rare cases, the story sticks with me (Leap of Faith) and will always be part of me.

Yes that scene grabbed my attention. It was refreshing, not because he kicked her out, but there was an option to play a man who respected himself even though he knew it would hurt bad, instead of just being a pathetic cuck or an over the top mega stud. Its so rare.
Fortunately, we can play the other routes too, so that is why it works. Within the confines of a game, this one rates well above average due to the writing, notwithstanding falling for some BBC stereotypical tropes, and some clunky dialogs. I wouldn't be surprised if King B isn't a native English speaker, because the syntax sometimes isn't natural.
