In my opinion, game developers should complete the story before writing a script. It is a lot like making a movie, but with multiple endings. All developers fall into this rut. I wish this period in porn game development would end, and developers would take it upon themselves to do so. All games are sliding into this, which is a shame, because it seems like 3D rendering and animation are a difficult task, while writing a script and characters is much easier. In reality, almost the opposite happens: dozens of characters, a multitude of development paths, and ultimately, delays in updates and in the end - abandonment. Take the optimal structure: one main character, one supporting character(male and female), two tertiary characters(lovers), random characters for effect (per scene). Slow burnout, a gradual transition from light kinks to heavy ones. And let the choice of paths be modified by a couple of additional scenes in the main scenes, and the text – in many ways, there should be a believable illusion of choice. That's all. This game certainly overuses the number of paths. And there aren't that many characters. But in other games, the number of characters is off the charts. I never cease to insist that humans are psychological creatures: the closer the connection with the character, the greater the excitement from the action, and vice versa.
Well, if a fully written script for such games really does seem like a difficult thing. At the very least, the direction, beginning and ending, dynamics, and main scenes must be clear. These are the basics of literary craft. It's just heartbreaking when people can create complex graphic animations (for me personally), but they can't write tropes that lead up to certain events. Because of this, it seems to me, every other game's updates feel poorly justified, and sometimes simply disconnected from the rest of the game. The only exceptions I can think of are MisFitsIn my opinion, game developers should complete the story before writing a script. It is a lot like making a movie, but with multiple endings.
You're not going to find many developers who actually do what they should in development. A professionally developed video game spends at least half a year designing the game before they even begin working on it. By the time they're done they have a detailed design document that essentially acts as a bible for the game, everything that is intended to be in the game is in that document. Every developer, even li'l porn devs grifting on patreon, would benefit from such a thing. In my opinion, game developers should complete the story before writing a script. You are right. At least KingB stopped collecting payments for his Patreon accounts. You're not going to find many developers who actually do what they should in development. Yes, and then the supposed story becomes non-existant. Or even worse the developer actually had no idea of where he wanted to go with the story to begin with. Just shooting from the hip with no foresight. Most of these games should probably end when the wife takes her first cock other than her husbands. It's hard to top that build-up, you need to be creative and actually have a decent idea of where the story should go.In NTR games, once the primary plot has passed the point of the FMC's temptation, trepidation, and finally the first few extramarital encounters, the game then descends into a series of sex scenes.
Did he stop collecting payments on his Patreon now, or did he stop a long time ago? I'm just not sure — I didn't buy the latest update. You are right. At least KingB stopped collecting payments for his Patreon accounts.
Over the past few years, my experience with NTR games has been twofold: either the developer gives up, or I do.Yes, and then the supposed story becomes non-existant. Otherwise it just becomes sex scene, after sex scene, like you said. But that's what a lot of people want unfortunately, you see them crying on these forums all the time or on the patreon, all some of them want is sex scenes. But without tension, build-up and consequenses the sex scenes become void and they feel less and less impactful. Which is why sacrificing the story for more sex scenes never work in the long run. They need at least equal space. But I get that it's hard when people want every update to be a nasty hot sex scene or they will cry and say it was a bad update...not to mention having 15 different paths![]()
I know man, why are people complaining about too many paths!Wow, it's a shame this game was abandoned. It was one of the few ntr-themed games that I really enjoyed. I saw some comments criticizing the fact that the game had many paths, but for me that's what made it great. Me, for example, played much more for the Ethan/Riya path variants.
Well, anyway, it was good while it lasted.
It's a bit of a hindsight is 20/20 situation, if all those paths led to ABANDONED then what use were those paths type thing.I know man, why are people complaining about too many paths!
"I hate this game, it's got far too much content"
What do they want? "Meet our MC - he's a man and this is his wife - she's a woman and together they had sex and stuff" the end
I get what you are saying guy but it's not hindsight because nobody knows why it was abandoned. It's a bit of a hindsight is 20/20 situation, if all those paths led to ABANDONED then what use were those paths type thing.
Of course the multiple options, characters and paths is exactly what people like about it, the problem is when the complexity catches up with the creator and the whole thing just slides into development hell, I don't think that anyone can deny that there is definitely some scope creep in this project, you could easily scoop a few things of the top and still end up with pretty complete and possibly more manageable game in the end.
