There was a bug in the alpha that would cause that to happen.
If you're on the alpha build. Download the supporter release instead.
Also, don't install mods.

You have to let Lauren lose the election to get her NTR path started. Mom has two options: if you let Matt "help you" get with her she begins her NTR path with him and also if you don't pay Joey (the mob boss) she begins her NTR path with him.
You're running it on a readonly filesystem. Apparently it needs to write something to disk
Has anyone had issues getting back into the yard after cleaning it the first time? I've cleaned it, have access to it, but when I visit it now, it says it needs to be cleaned again and no one wants to spend time there. I can't trigger or figure out how to clean it again so I can complete "Just Outside", "Eating Healthy", or "Internet Famous". I go to the Lounge on Saturday, but Jacky is there and we repeat the washing machine repair. I have "Predatory Teacher", "Gratitude", "Intern to the President", and "Painted your cousin" in progress. I found a bug with the books. You have to buy the books twice to be able to read them. Buy it and pick it up at the warehouse, and it will still say that you should buy it. Try to buy it again, and it will say that you already have enough, and then you will be able to read it.
Ok but I got the same thing and also didn't install mods. I just downloaded the game and ran it.
