Hey everyone,
I hope you're doing great. ^^ Aurora also hopes you're doing great. She is clearly in a good mood. Her give away is that her eyes aren't on fire.
Yesterday, I set up a lot of renders + 2 short animations. My computer rendered for about 16 hours straight. Mind you, I have an RTX4090 and the rest of this machine isn't half bad either. It's kind of crazy that it still took 16 hours (I made a mistake and it could have been done quicker, Oops)
Anyway. I'm now at 133 images + 2 animations. If I hadn't added some stuff, I would be close to done with this update. And if I hadn't gone back and ganched around 50 images + a couple animations (everything that included Monique and/or Nathaniel), then I would also be close to finishing this update.
Sucks...
Full disclosure. I'm heading into a second exam phase (Since the first one wasn't enough...). My lecture break (Not sure what it's called in english, here it's Semesterferien) didn't feel like a real break. There were lots of things to do. Working on A Foreign World these past two weeks were better, but still not what I would call relaxing.
It's going to get better soon.
Today I perfectly experienced two scenarios that motivate me to write a story. Let me tell you about both. Appart from creating stories, I also like to consume stories. They don't have to be perfect. They don't have to be the greatest piece of literature ever written. The opposite actually. I often seek stories that hit certain emotions. I like it when an author gives me an interesting spin on common tropes. And sometimes I just want something calm and relaxing. For example I enjoyed a story like

.
I once again tried to find a story that I could relax to. I felt like experiencing some romance slice of life, maybe with a fantasy element or some cool spin. I started two stories, and both sucked ass. The first had potential, but instead of focusing on a love interest, the story dived into countless stupid (literally stupid) revenge plots. Also the MC could do anything, never failed, and had powers that had no connection to the actual story and only made the MC more powerful (in a medival world without fantasy elements, where he alsready had every advantage)
^^ I gave it a while but this story sucked
The second story was about the trope of the underappreciated boyfriend that gets stood up before the altar, and then marries his billionair waifu which loves and appreciates him more than that other women ever did. Well... I've been itching to write such a story myself, but I also like to read them. I even consumed tzhese kinds of stories that were clearly written for a female audience. I like these kinds of stories and I put up with a lot because face it many of them aren't that good. Often they rely mainly on rage bait.
This one had a somewhat promising start. Then out of nowhere a "system" appeared, which handed out his billionair waifu as a reward. I sat there thinking "Fuck you! What is this?" The reason why I like these stories is partly because the MC is underappreciated and even though he has some skills (even if they are average), he deserves better than a girl who abondons him for superficall reasons. And then he can SHOW that he is in fact a GOOD PERSON that is DESERVING OF LOVE. And it's not just that GOD FEELS GENEROUS and gives the mc A WIFE that wouldn't even think about him as a suitable partner if he was the last man on earth.
I don't know... I read these stories and I think I could do a better job. Last week I also had a moment that made me realize that I still had a long way to go as a writer, but I could easily do a better job than these two.
And once again I wanted to write something.
Now, this first scenario that gets me in a writing mood took longer to explain than I though. I'm going to tell you the other ting next time.
Anyway. I try to get this next update out soon. My last exam is in about a month. Afterwards I have more leeway since I won't have to attend lectures this next semester.
Keep your eyes open for future updates.
Until then, Enjoy!
