Is the dev using last year's costumes? A bit lazy, I think...
It's basically an old Scottish dialect, not only was it influenced by English, but there contact with Old Norse from the Vikings and holdover words from ancient Irish when they settled in Scotland around the 13th Century. The "ken" from "I dinnae ken" is derived from the Old Norse "kenna", meaning "to know".So I literally had to look up what the hell is "dinnae" or rather how its pronounced bc I knew Blair was Scottish, but I've never heard a Scot say "I dinnae ken". They usually say I don't know in a scottish accent (on tv). The way it's spelt looks its supposed to be prounounced like ai and not ay and by my ear it sounds like dinny. Anyways that was just my uncultured rant and also I find Naomi's piratey accent hard to do bc it does not sound sexy. I do not like Yona and am confused why she was added into the harem since there already is a muscle mommy in the group and now there's just an orc. Fun game tho inspite of my ranting
Also dinnae ken is just fun to say, and everyone should adopt it.It's basically an old Scottish dialect, not only was it influenced by English, but there contact with Old Norse from the Vikings and holdover words from ancient Irish when they settled in Scotland around the 13th Century. Basically Blair's use of language is meant to show how disconnected she is from the others. Rae, Cait, Naomi, and to a lesser extent, Lyriel and even Yona will speak in a "modern" dialect to show that they're all on the same wavelength about certain topics, namely magic. They might come from different worlds, but they have that commonality that if someone talks about a magic related topic, they'll be able to understand in a way. But because Blair's world is so different, her understanding of magic is non-existent that she might as well be speaking a different language at times.
As for why Yona is in the game, yes we have a muscle mommy with Naomi, but with Yona we now have a subby muscle mommy.
i first heard it in "love of magic", kinda cute way of saying "i don't know", and as a norwegian, i can't really figure out exactly which dialect "ken" could come from. where i live we use "ikke" or "ikkje" for that phrase, and it is pretty much unchanged the last 1200 years. but this i starting to go off-topic. love the scottish dialect thoughAlso dinnae ken is just fun to say, and everyone should adopt it.
I personally learned it from the RA Salvatore Drizzt books.
It's been so long since I did that have you caught her with bananas more that once and when answering didn't make it sound like you were on to her, can't remember what time I went but did a few different times before I found the door cracked openOk, so I need some aid. I am stuck on Cait's sidequest, The Eager Student Chapter 4. The one where you catch her practicing on bananas? I am playing from the start, but I can't for the live of me finish this quest. Am I doing something wrong? I go to the Living Room in the mourning, greet her, then try to go to her room to catch her, but it keeps telling me the door is locked.
Honestly? I think I tried every combination of dialogueIt's been so long since I did that have you caught her with bananas more that once and when answering didn't make it sound like you were on to her, can't remember what time I went but did a few different times before I found the door cracked open
I'll see if I can find a save before that and check how I did it no sure if I have one thoHonestly? I think I tried every combination of dialogue
ThanksI'll see if I can find a save before that and check how I did it no sure if I have one tho
Did you place the exe file in the folder? You have to place it inside the same folder as the ahitr.exe then open the patch exe file.Does anyone have a 0.7.11 -> 0.7.12r3 patch file that's NOT an executable? The executable version is tossing fits because it's not "installed" (because I didn't install it in a way the computer considers it installed). Failing that, does anyone know if there's a flag/switch available to tell the executable where the installation is at?
...oh that would've just made sense. Sometimes, I am not so smort. I ended up just re-downloading the whole thing for this one. Next version, I'll know better.Did you place the exe file in the folder? You have to place it inside the same folder as the ahitr.exe then open the patch exe file.
We do, and it seems to be an overall issue. An error in the game, where we cannot advance that specific quest. If anyone knows how to fix it, please, let us know.Asking again how to see what Caitlin is doing in "Eager student ch.4", because it probably got buried. Can someone help? She gets the bananas but I can't see what she's doing, although I'm pretty sure we all know.
