The dev went on holiday/vacation in September and paused all Patreon payments for the whole month.
He's been back at work for some days. Here's his latest dev update on Patreon where he also talks about Unity's fiasco.

I'm back from my vacation and slowly started to get back on working on the game. I still had a lot of privat matters to attend this week so there isn't too much progress to report.
Progress
However, I modelled a few smaller props that are used in the next scenes I intend to work on or rather started to work on as seen above. I basically finished writing, I just need to wrap up some things and than I can give it to review.
Unity
Maybe some of you heard a about the whole buzz surrounding Unity and there new policies for license fees and all that stuff and I want to address this briefly. First of, I'm not affected by the changes at the moment as my revenue is by far not high enough and the way I distribute my game is not tracked by Unity anyway. Unity would have to make a deal with Patreon itself. Anyway, I don't want to go much deeper into the specifics as this is to big for this format.
The problem I see is the lost trust for Unity as a company and their display of lack of communication within the company and the lack of understanding their customers. This whole situation is such a mess that one can only think that the whole development of Unity itself in the inside must be a mess as well which probably isn't a good foundation for the future of Unity.
The trust in the development of the engine is pretty much gone at the moment. However, I'll stay with the engine for my game for now as it would be to much effort to convert it to another engine (even with some proposed tools online). Act 1 will definitely be finished in Unity. Act 2 probably too, but it's not settled yet.
I had a lot of other features planed for the engine I wanted to implement but I'm not sure anymore if I want to go that way. They are postponed until all the dust has settled.
