He's back.





Greetings,
I'm back from my vacation and started working on the game again last week. I've finished a medium sized scene and started working on a few smaller scenes. There are 2 big story scenes left to render and a few smaller bridging scenes.
Next week I'll start to work on the biggest scene that is left. This will be a interesting scene to pose as it involves fighting. I guess that will be quite challenging to make it look good. I try to make the fight not too long but I want some cool shots with impact and they need a small build up each. But I try to not over-do it.
I haven't had the time to create another lewd image this week but I'll prepare something for next week.

last week I was pretty much only working on the fight scene. I'm nearly finished with it. Just a few more final shots. In the end I did cut a few sequences because at some point during last week I realized that what I had in mind was way to ambitious, would need much more shots than I initially thought and would take at least another week if not even two. And as I think progress already is quite slowly I decided to shorten it a bit more. They outcome is the important thing I think.
After I'm finished with the fight scene there are some smaller scene left to render that will lead to the end of this chapter/act/season.
Lewd scene
I will publish a beta to the high tier Patreons once I'm finished with all story scenes regarding this episode. However, there is no lewd scene yet. But as I said, I won't ship a episode without a lewd scene. I was thinking about making another porn parody scene but decided to add another scene with Selene in retrospective. It will be settled in the story/content of the previous episode. I'll make sure that everyone who has played this chapter will get that scene unlocked in the gallery immediately and I'll make sure that save files won't be broken.

I thought Unity is cross platform framework and I doubt that simple VN requires some platform specific libraries outside of Unity to function that you need to port

Most likely you don’t have to port anything, just setup build process properly with a standard template

That’s 30 min job

I've finished the fighting scene and started working on the last smaller scenes. For one sequence I need the cast for the next season so I'm currently updating their shaders so they match the current ones. However, I won't fine tune them to the last bit because they will only have a brief appearance and probably will be reworked again once I start working on the next season.

Plans for the next season includes switching to blender completly. The lack of development in the DAZ Plugin is to much to continue working with it. And in Blender I'll have the opportunity to enhance them even more.
However, plan for the next week is to quick update the shader of all the 'new' characters and finish the remaining scenes to be able to give this episode to review.

Music
What I just noticed is that I haven't added any new music to the game for a while. And for this section I want to add at least one more fast paced track to underline the action sequences. This will probably happen during beta test. Not before.

Sorry, for the bit late post but I couldn't decide for a spoiler free preview so I just used the current test image of the shaders for Luna. But I'm not satisfied with them yet. So a little bit adjustment is needed before I use them for rendering in this episode.

Looks kinda familiar to fans of this game!

This is a reproduction of the first numerical simulation of a black hole accretion disc. It was created by physicist researcher Jean-Pierre Luminet in 1979 using an IBM 7040 mainframe. The output came out on punch cards, so Luminet drew the result coordinates on paper by hand, black ink on white paper, and then used a photographic setup to print a "negative" image.

The simulation was performed to find the paths taken by photons emitted from a toroidal accretion disc that were then affected by doppler and gravity effects, and the rotation of the singularity. Each path result was plotted individually as a dot onto the paper, so in a way this could be considered a primitive form of ray tracing. The higher density areas of dots/rays ended up showing as the lighter areas of the resultant negative image.

The approximate shape was confirmed to be aligned to reality by an image taken in 2019 via radio telescope of the black hole at the centre of the M87 galaxy

I got a pre-release of Episode 9 last week, and just sent off my first round of edits to Marvellous Lunatic .

The finale of the first arc of the story is looking amazing, and action packed! :love:

No long dialogues about programming this time... (which I loved, but understand might not be everyone's cup of tea)
any chance you would post us the two most recent patreon posts as well, sir?

Haha, I'd love to but unfortunately I am not a Patreon member!

I don't have a creator account myself so can't confirm but I am told that there is no function in Patreon for the creator to "gift" membership or allow any specific patreon account to have access to the paid tiers.

Given the donation of time and effort I already give, I choose not to pay actual monies to see the private posts - which amusingly sometimes results in me hearing the news of anything via this thread first :ROFLMAO:

However there is at least one person in this thread who occasionally reposts the patreon text here.

the beta for the higher tiers started last week. I kept working on the lewd scene. The images for the lewd scene are mostly done and mainly the animations are left. I try to finish them this week but there are a few things this week that will take time away from me being able to work on the game or let the animations render.

  • 1 (3) sound tracks (1 completely new, 2 from the first trailer that currently weren't in the game)
