Come on.... I'll admit they're well rendered but the majority is playing this game for the mystery space setting. I think the only other similar game is toro7.
Maybe there would be more tension if the dev gave the MC amnesia. Then the flashbacks would have had other purposes.

The saboteur plot line has droned on too long and at no point did it feel like the MC and Selene made any kind of significant progress against Reddick and Johannes. There's a point when it just gets boring and repetitive. So much so that I've just about lost all interest. Three years of development now and the majority of the cast of characters are still in cryo... in an alleged "harem" game... all because the dev can't figure out how to resolve a couple antagonists that he made too capable and effective. Honestly, they really need to be taken out of the picture entirely... like next episode. Otherwise the story isn't going anywhere. Porn games are supposed to emphasize character relationships and romances so that the MC can get on with fucking his mom and sisters, after all. No one wants thousands of renders of a fucking edgelord in a turtleneck drinking a cup of coffee.

But Selene and Pia do have nice tits and ass and the sex scenes are decently animated and posed (ignoring the derpy facial expressions of course). So the sex scenes really are the least of the problems with this VN.

The plan is that all sex scenes will be optional in the second act/season. But characters still may have to appear in story relevant scenes. So they won't be of the screen entirely suddenly. The "harem" will also be optional. But realistically speaking harem is still far away.

I think my favourite part is that I assume this is a rip of the film Passengers, but that film gave very easy to understand reasons to justify the two characters being awake: one got woken up due to a glitch caused by an asteroid, then woke up someone else due to the incredible loneliness. That's it. No need for some Machiavellian villain duo. Not only that, it also gives a reasoning for other cryopods to open. So if he literally just used the film (since I assume the AVN was inspired by the film), he could've just used the same reasoning.

I will say i've enjoyed the story so far. The relationship between the MC and Selene is good and I am interested to see what comes next.

I do, however, agree with Jericho85 a bit. The story does need to move on.

The dev constantly blows his load with the sex scenes, giving them the opposite effect they should be having.

Dev, when making a sex scene in a VN you don't make them long fuckfests with the two parties engaging in every position from start to finish.
You need to spread them out so the readers can build up anticipation for what's to happen next.
There's a reason why in most VN's characters usually only engage in rudimentary acts for the first few scenes then build up to intercourse over the course of the story. This gives us readers breathing room, and allows buildup.

If the characters are getting dirty and going the full course in the first scenes you show us, then where do we go from there?

People would be more amicable to Pia if she was teased, and scenes were spread out. But instead, she jumps your dick and we have to sit through scenes with a character we don't know or care about.

Also, the dirty talk in the scenes is way to mechanical and stiff. It's just not hot. When was the last time the dev actually had sex with a girl?
You can overcome this by putting the describing factors in internal thoughts, whilst having the characters act naturally.
So they don't need to be saying "I love having sex with you my sexy man with a nice big dick. It really increases the enjoyment of sex please have sex with my sexy body"

I agree about Pia and the lack of buildup and that we basically know nothing about her as a character before jumping straight to sex, but I think the scene itself is great, the only change I'd make is to tone down the porn-style dialogue a bit but not leave it entirely to descriptions, or even worse, walls of text of boring inner monologues.

I hope to see be more scenes like this, and not the lame, and unrealistically short, step by step sex act checklists we see in way too many games. It just needs to be with characters I actually care about.

It's fine if they do everything in the first scene and it makes sense story or character-wise, what matters in a sex scene is the context of the scene, the length and the characters. There's nothing wrong even if they've already had vaginal sex 5 times already, as long as the buildup or the situation leading to the sex is done well.

It also doesn't have to "progress" to anal or whatever to keep things interesting. I'd rather play a game with quality repeated sex acts with a small cast of great characters than those games with a giant cast filled with shallow characters to have one-off scenes with. That's one of the biggest problem with most real porn games.

So in other words, my only real problem with Pia scene is that it's in a flashback, with a character that has only been in flashbacks, and that might not even be part of the actual story taking place on the spaceship making it hard for me to care about her scene.

I've never been a fan of sex scenes in flashbacks, or even worse, dreams. It always comes off as a cheap way to shoehorn sex when it wouldn't make sense storywise. The appeal of these games, to me, is the hopefully interesting story and characters, combined with the agency we have in VNs, leading to more meaningful sex scenes than you'd normally find in something like porn, books or whatever.

This is something you don't really get with dreams and rarely with flashbacks, where it's often essentially just a sex scene for the sake of having a sex scene.

Anyway, that's my wall of text of how I felt about it.

I love this story. It took me on a journey that was beautiful, inspiring, but also painful and depressing. For that, I'm happy to leave Atomic Heart alone. I want to know what happens next with our heroes. Of course, there are gaps in logic and the flashbacks to Eloins ex are a bit annoying - because she is disfigured, and you don't know why - but the story captivates me. The characters are well created and look really hot. So please, keep up the good work!

I could understand criticism against her sex scenes if flashbacks aren't your thing, I get that. But her model is sexy as hell, she's not disfigured in any way, and her more apparent veins than usual are just a distinctive feature that makes her unique. I've met very fair-skinned people in real life who looked like that.

I think the dev once said those are makeup, not veins. But I could be wrong.

I understand that, and I can agree with you up to a point. However, I feel that the biggest problem with her role is the long development times that this game has, with us players waiting for months just to see the story barely move forward.
Once the game is finally complete (hopefully one day), people replaying this game or playing it for the first time will have a much more satisfying experience, and those "filler" scenes with Pia will make more sense and be way less frustrating.

BTW, the dev's gone on holiday again so his Patreon has been put on hold for the next few weeks. He'll be back by late September.

The preview image is not canon. I just wanted to create another little lewd image before I'm off for my vacation. But it sure would be a nice scene to do in total.
Anyway, I'm of to my well needed vacation. To much stress in the last few weeks. Till later.
