Aside from being only a slight improvement to speed, it also automatically selects a choice for you when the next choice comes up.

This is one of the many grand failures of RPGM engine, which some rare few games fix via a script to give you a proper fast forward button. (much faster and does not actually make choices)

But it's not Renpy.....So press Control or the space bar and keep your mouse away from the choices area of the screen
That's the way a lot of rpg games work.
Why complain about the game engine, learn to use it.

The 2nd doesn't happen if you hold the button from the beginning. You need another press to select the choices.

Trust me, I do this all the time when playing Blackjack.

Hmmm, maybe it was because I did the Rick "NTR" thing. I wanted them to be a couple and then secretly fuck her behind his back lol. But this seems like it locks out the entire content for Kate? MC only stops Thomas blackmail if he told Rick about getting with Kate. If he doesn't stop the blackmail, she doesn't seem to progress past kissing the MC or something.

Edit: Actually, nvm. Scratch that. It did trigger without telling Rick. Maybe I just had to keep helping her at midnight until it triggers.
