Hey everyone, almost missed this one. So, we'll start with the important stuff. The puppy is doing great. She's been a bit unruly the last couple days but apparently that's my fault. I'm overstimulating her and she's essentially running on a cooked brain. So starting today I had to start incorporating forced down time and naps. She's been a lot better today. I don't want her puppy phase to end, but I am excited for when she gets older and can keep up with my energy levels and activities without turning into a little terror. Lol.
Scene 2 is almost done. I've already started setting up scene 3. It'll be a tough one for sure. I have big plans for the animations in this scene, and I have zero fucking clue how to make them happen. So, you know... jumping into the deep end... with a brick tied to my feet. Just the way I like it. If it starts looking like it's taking too long though, I'll probably push them to the end and focus on the rest of the chapter. Circle back when I feel refreshed / learned more. Either way, things are moving well now. The puppy spends most of her nap times now in her pen / at my feet. She's already growing out of my lap, and often times can't really get comfortable despite trying. So, that's afforded me more time to focus on ATR. Catch .22 if there ever was one.
Cloon has some great concepts cooking, which I think I was supposed to share in this log, but since I wasn't too sure, I'll postpone and add them in the next one.
I think that's it for this log. My Blender workflow is becoming easier to manage the longer I do it. I have decided, despite how beautiful particle hair looks, to forgo any use of it in the future. While I love the idea of the physics baked into the hair for animations; doing still work with it is arduous and nerve cooking. Not to mention heavy as fuck. So, I can understand why game companies use "game-ready" hair (which is just mesh hair) and use bones/cages to provide movement. So, that'll be something I need to figure out soon since I already did a few models with particle hair.

Hey everyone, man this week flew by. Not in a good way either. Alright, so let's break it down. Scene 2 is laughably dense. So much so, that the back end of it, with 5 models loaded into the scene is causing so many fucking headaches. The VRAM for the total scene is far outside the 24GB of my 4090. Now, thankfully, Blender only renders out the camera. However, it still calculates EVERYTHING. This is causing obnoxiously long render times for the frames. Not to mention the particle hair, which I have to groom, render, re-groom on the next frame, render, repeat for all scenes with Olivia in it. I still have about 11 frames to pose before I can say it's done, which doesn't sound like a lot, and wouldn't be if the scene didn't run like a sloth on heroin. So, I'll hopefully have those done soon, and then the painful rendering of it all. Thankfully, this scene will be the last I have to deal with that. I've gotten pretty familiar with this scene optimization addon for my environments and I've finally figured out the character optimization workflow. While I'm not using particle hair anymore, I am using the geometry node calculated curves. Which is essentially the same thing, but way more optimized and easier to make. To give an example. The render I did recently with Kira. Her model was at one point pulling almost 8-9GB of vram alone. I did my optimization method for her materials/mesh. Then it dropped down to about 6.2GB. Removed her particle hair and went back to mesh hair, and it came down to roughly 5.8. I since switch to geometry hair, further optimized her shaders, and now I'm running Kira with more detail than ever, at a beautiful 4.4GB of vram. She moves around the scene space like a leaf in the wind. I want that for ALL of my models. It'll not only exponentially speed up my workflow, it'll also keep me from screaming at my PC and ripping out all of my hair.
Cloon is doing Cloon things. Being amazing and crushing dope ass shit. We did have something to share, but we recently updated the team logo, and so that had to be put on hold again. I'll coordinate with him soon, and see if we can't get that little bit out later this week on it's own post.
So, I get that it might seem a bit scary. Like "jeez NME, you already work slow as fuck, now you gotta redo your models again!?" It's not like before. I've redone the shaders so many times, that I actually turned most of them into node groups that I can import as a collection and I'm so intimately familiar with my models now, that the whole process takes me less than 5 minutes to adjust the values to each one. The optimization workflow does take a bit more time, especially because I'm still new to a lot of the processes but that part is too important not to do, and way to critical to the future of my work to fuck around and rush it. However, that being said, the longest will be the hair. While I should be able to get MOST of the hair styles done with geo-nodes. Some which I just took a quick stab at this weekend are proving to be obnoxiously difficult to reproduce. So, if I have to, I'll just make new hair styles for them to keep things moving. Either way, the point is, don't worry. The process isn't going to eat up too much time, and in the long term, will shorten everything by a ton.

Hey everyone. Hope you all had a great week. Alright, so let's get down to brass tacks. I started working on scene 3. I have finished scene two posing, but because of the obnoxious render times, I haven't done that part yet. The whole scene will lock down my PC for a couple days or so. Which, I'll have to wait for a weekend for since I have an actual job which requires me to be able to run some pretty heavy programs/tasks sometimes. So, I simply just... can't right now. I was going to try and do it this weekend, but there was just too much to do. So once I render it, I'll have a preview for you all. Until then, it'll sit there in the corner being woefully ignored like the problem child it is. Now, scene 3 has been going smooth so far, but I'm going to start attempting the animation work this week. Two of my engineers at work are on vacation this week though, so... we'll see what my time looks like. Thankfully, I was doing this weeks lewd render with Ruby, who is in this scene, and there were some problems with her model that popped up. Thankfully now, rather than in the middle of animation work. Lol. So I'm working on fixing those today, and once I'm done, I'll re-render the lewd and post it here. It's easy, when you spend weeks sculpting, baking, sculpting, baking, sculpting, baking, testing, sculpting, testing, baking, etc....... To miss some pretty obvious flaws in your work. But this is life in 3D. So, gotta roll with the punches. Cloon should be back from vacation soon, so once he gets back I'll have some preview for you guys on one of the many things he's been working on. Character optimization has been... problematic. It's working... it's just slower than I had hoped since there is quite a bit more fine tuning involved. But I'm getting there. Thankfully the models I need for the next scene are already done. So big relief there. I think that's actually it for this week. Short(ish) and to the point. Gotta get back to unfucking Ruby's model so I can get back to work.

Hey everyone. Not a lot to report this week. I spent almost the whole week trying to optimize and unfuck scene 2. I tried to render it, and I got through maybe a handful but then it kept crashing Blender or rendering black screen. So, I needed to figure out how to decimate some mesh without changing the whole look of those scenes and causing some ugly lack of continuity issues. I got most of them. Not totally done yet, as I'm trying to get this done without touching the models themselves. The scenes at the end when there are 4 models in camera are being a bitch to get done. I did work on scene 3 a bit. The static images leading up to the animation are almost done. I had an issue with MC's cock material. It looked fucking weird and discolored. Like he was wearing a cock-ring for too long. So working on that. Otherwise it's about ready to push into the animation. Scared and excited.
Cloon just got back from vacation. We'll coordinate and touch base tomorrow.

Hey everyone. Hitting it early this week, because I'm going to take the weekend off. Scene 2 is a cunt's hair away from being finished. Like fully. Scene 3 animations are mainly set up and ready to start being keyed. There is some sculpting I need to finish before getting started. I know I owe a handful of you some pinups. I promise I'll have them all out soon, there have just been so many fucking things going haywire, it's like a never ending battle right now with things fucking up. It's all good though. I figured out everything with scene 2's optimization. All the renders are coming out great now. The models are coming along, if not a lot slower than I wished. But that's the name of the game. I kept running into timeline issues which took me a couple days to figure out, but I got them. Like I said, I've spent more time troubleshooting weird issues that would pop up every time I fixed one thing, that I'm just mentally toasted for the week. If I get the itch, I'll probably work on the pinups this weekend, but honestly, I think I NEED to force some downtime, and just focus on my puppy and watch some bargain-bin horror movies to refresh myself. Plus my good bud RogueOne just released a new update recently. So, I'd like to actually sit and play that through. If y'all haven't checked out That New Teacher yet, do it. It's good shit. Anyways, I think that's about it. Next week's focus will be animating and working on scene 4. Thank fuck, I got everything I need for that one done. So it's as straightforward as it can be to work on that one. Should be nice and smooth (knocking on wood).

Hey everyone. Hope y'all had a good week. This week was really good for ATR. Aoife(my puppy), not so much. She's having some weird allergic reaction that doesn't seem to be getting any relief. Which is frustrating and sad. But we're working through trying to figure out what's causing it. In other news, scene 2 is finally completely done. I've already started actively working on scene 3. I had a lot of it set up, and some of it even posed already, but after going back over it, I realized the lighting was so ass, I started redoing it all. So, that's where we're at. I'm going to do all the post for scene 1 and 2 today and send it off to Cloon to look through and make sure I didn't miss any clipping/weird lighting, etc. I work on an OLED monitor that was built with 3D art and design in mind. So, sometimes what looks perfect to me might be dark/bright to others with more mainstream or generalized monitors. So, the secondary pass from Cloon is important in ensuring everyone has the best visual experience on release. Here's a quick preview from scene 2.

Moving on for this week, it's pretty much full steam ahead on the animations for scene 3. I'll have all the stills leading up to the animations relit and rendered out today. Cloon has been chomping away at his workload as well as helping me storyboard the chapters to ensure everything that needs to be covered, gets covered. This is an invaluable thing for me, and will help speed things along since I don't have to wonder "what am I supposed to cover next in order to keep the story moving without fucking up the pacing." Which let's face it, anyone who played the prologue knows I worked backwards, and it was pretty fucking sloppy. That won't happen anymore. Cloon is much better at tracking / pacing broad story perspective than I am, so, yet another reason I'm so grateful to be partnered with him.
I think that is actually about it for this one. I'm so happy to finally be done with this obnoxious scene, and even happier knowing I won't have to deal with this sort of thing again in the future thanks to the character / scene optimizations I have, and will implement in the future. Hey everyone. Man been a shitty week. Both in the literal and figurative sense. So, feeling like ass still, so just going to jump right in. Scene 3 is looking great. I ran into some issues with the physics for the scene that I'm trying to work out. It's affecting the animation, so that has halted until I can figure out why the fuck it's doing what it's doing. I could go into detail, but honestly, with this particular topic, it's going to be a lot of jargon that anyone who hasn't used Blender isn't going to understand anyways. So, I'll save you the screens pace. If I can't work it out soon, I might have to move on and come back to it later. Just to keep things moving. Now for the reason I lost a lot of timet his week. With the fires in California, there was a pretty huge egg shortage out here. Not to mention the price gouging for the ones that were available. Now I live on a private road that leads to a family ranch down the street. The ranch family started delivering eggs to everyone who lives on this road (it's pretty long street but the houses are really spread out so... less than 10 people on the whole road. Anyways, I guess it's common knowledge out here where most people own their own chickens, but you're supposed to wash the membrane off of fresh eggs before you break it open. I didn't know that. So I'm just cracking away, and I guess at some point, either while breaking inside the shell, or a piece fell into the bowl and contaminated my eggs because I caught Salmonella. Not food poisoning, like the actual shit. I was puking and shitting acid for days. A few days ago I did get some antibiotics and some codeine syrup. So at least there is that. I'm not longer puking as of yesterday but man am I fucking drained all the time. Still scared to fart too. So... looking forward to when that ends. At least the codeine is keeping me numb and high as fuck. Lol.

Hey everyone. Late one today. My PC has been crashing hard the last few days. I think it's a CPU issue. Or rather the cooler. I have one in the mail, since I live far as fuck from literally everything. So for now I can pretty much keep my PC idle, but if I put it under load it lasts maybe like 10 minutes or so, and then it shuts down and the cooler is running full speed. Anyway, scene 5 is moving along. It's looking good. I'll have a preview for the next log. That's it. Short and sweet. The rest of this week has been really uneventful for just about everything else. I work, I do ATR shit, and in between those I hang with my puppy. Nothing exciting happened in either three of those territories this week. So, I hope you all have a great week. Hey everyone. Tired as fuck, so just gonna jump right into the grit. I'm about 30 frames into scene 5. I didn't have a ton of time this week, as work is starting to pick up in preparation for the Summer months. If you’ve been following us for a while, you know that Cloon and I both work in fields that go through busy periods. Mine is encroaching fast. There is going to be some traveling I'll need to do coming up this May for work. It's gonna keep me on the road for at least a couple weeks; but I'll bring that back up later on. Anyways, feeling pretty burned out to be honest. Not the first, and won't be the last time I feel like this. But probably why I feel so fucking exhausted today. Been just trying to chill and decompress before the shit show kicks back up tomorrow. Anyway, here is a preview from scene 5.

Hey everyone. Hope you had a great week. Doing this a day early because I'm going to pack the Jeep up and take my puppy on her first camping/fishing trip. Already getting a bit later of a start than I wanted today, so just going to jump right in.
This week was another slow one. Next week should be better though as two of my engineers are coming back from PTO. I'll have some concrete numbers and a nice preview for you guys next week. As it stands I feel like I'm probably about half way done with scene 5. If I had to put a percentage on the whole update removing the animations from the equation; I'd say I'm about 40%. Cloon is probably punching above 80% on his current project. As I said though, I'll have a more conclusive update next week. For now, I need to hit the road.

Hey everyone, hope y'all had a good week. This was a frustrating one for me. I lost Monday since it's when I landed back home from my work trip. So, starting on Tuesday, I jumped back to the animation. Now... I'm very quickly realizing that physics based cages are a pain in the fucking ass. I'm starting to think using custom bones and weight painting will be easier and faster. Simulations are just so fucking finicky. Anyways, on top of that, at some point one of the main models I did the hair for, ended up with pieces attached to her head mesh AND the cap mesh I created for the hair. This causes an extreme failure in physics when running animations, and even prevents me from combing the hair when the model is posed. It's... been a week. Anyways, I'm almost done with the hair groom, and this time I made sure it's all on one mesh. The custom bones and empties (I know y'all probably don't know or care what this actually means, but I'm spewing it out anyway) on the titties are done, and once I finish the hair I'll move on to rigging the ass and thighs. Then I'll run some tests to make sure it's working the way I'm hoping for. Breasts are easier to do than ass and thighs, so I'm sure it'll be a thing. Aside from that, I should be back on my pinup game this week. Between all the fuckups and work this week, I just haven't had time, but I'm really clamoring to do something fun before I smash my face into the monitor from frustration and angst. Honestly, I'm just fucking exhausted, so I'm going to focus on chilling the rest of the day. Tomorrow I'll have something nice to put out. Hope everyone has a great week. Hey everyone. Another week that blinked away from me. Production on the art side was again slow this week. I did get some things done, but with work being ramped up right now to prepare for Summer projects, my time is both limited, and work is draining. I did however, get a ton of writing done, thanks to a bunch of meetings I only had to speak briefly in. I've decided to restructure a couple scenes from what I originally had planned. Anyways, finished a hair asset that was too hard for me to do a few months back because I just didn't have the skill. So that was a huge breakthrough for me. And the hair looks pretty damn close to her hair in Daz. Only much better... and also has physics. So, yay. I'm still working on Nita's hair here and there but hers isn't quite a priority since it's a few scenes left to do before she appears. So I have time. Still working on scene 5. I'll have this and the others buttoned up really fast sometime after the next week or two. My workload should relax beginning in June once all the projects start taking off. Everyone will be so busy with their own shit, it'll be time for me to relax, and go into maintenance mode. That's always when I have the most time to focus on ATR, is in those windows. For now, I'll continue to work on it when I can. I'll say this though. It's looking good. I'm still not rendering anything yet just in case I decide to change the mood of the lighting one more time. However, I think I'll stick with the way I'm going. Once I for sure land on it, I'll render a preview. Also taking a bit longer with this one because a few assets I needed didn't exist. Or rather, a quality asset didn't exist. So I had create some of them from scratch which... isn't a strong suit of mine since I've probably spent the least amount of learning time in Blender on modeling. Either way, that part it mostly done. I do need to create a few more things, but they're small and should be pretty straightforward. Again, I'll have more robust logs once work cycles down a bit. For patrons, I should have a pinup by end of day. I'm just trying to decide on the outfit I want to put her in for the vibe I want with it. I think that's pretty much it for this week. Hey everyone, it's Sunday again. So here I am. This week I spent a lot of time getting the scene dialogue worked out. I finally finished Melody. Who leaves just Nita to button up the main girl pinups. I'll have them in a separate post soon for those of you not in our Discord server. Might just put them up today, and post Nita's later, since I've already done a pinup with her in it, I just had to redo her hair. Nothing else on her is changing. So, might just leave that one out for now. I spent a lot of time redoing Melody this week. Not just her hair. I did a pinup for her, and dude... what the fuck happened? Her face was all fucked up. I have no idea what I was thinking, when I thought she was hot. That was some boulder jaw going on. A buddy even went as far as to tell me she had Johnny Bravo's chin game. Beside that there were some other issues with her head and body proportions. So, I redid all of that. Then I needed to update her shaders so she didn't look plastic like some other Daz->Blender models often do. Needless to say, I think I fucking nailed it. You'll see once I post up their profile pinups. Scene 5. I got like... 10 frames posed for it. So... not a lot. Just didn't have the time or mental focus to do it this week on top of the other things. But, from the looks of my calendar. This upcoming week will nice and slow. Just like I was predicting. So, I'm going to finish scene 5 no matter what this week. And circle back to 4 after I finish some environment work for it. Melody's glowup is monumental. So, her brief appearance in scene 2 now is a blessing, because I can't unsee her old fuckyness now. But... as I said. I'm not backtracking for anything. So, onward we shall go, into the great expanse of beautiful ladies, far away from the fuck ugliness of yesterday. I'm a bit drunk. Got family visiting this weekend, and it's been nice to see them. Been a couple years at least. Gonna get back to that. You all have a great rest of your day/night. Wishing everyone stateside a good Memorial Day.

Hey everyone. Hope you all had a great week. Today is the last day fam is visiting so I'll make this quick. I got about 93 frames posed this week. I also added some new dialogue and a couple scenes to the pipeline for the future. Not this particular release. Though, there will be a little snippet added to queue it up for the future in this release. Super excited to make it happen. Of the 93 frames posed, 63 of them were for scene 5 and I started to get a little burned out on it, so I jumped back to start the additional scene I referenced a second ago. So yeah. A lot was done this week and I feel great about it. It's nice when I pump out that level of work at that capacity. Wish I could be this free for it all the time. Lol. I know I've been missing the Patreon tier pinups. Sorry about that guys. With all the things I keep adjusting and updating on the models, it's been hard to get to them, especially when I've had such little time for development. So I try and maximize dev time over those. I'll try my best to get a double out this upcoming week. Maybe make up for it. Though, it would be a lot easier to get them out if I didn't have to make them so complicated. Alas, I don't know how not to do that. So here we are.
Cloon has been doing Cloon things, and they look great. He's not happy yet, but I think it's killer what he's done.

Finally catching my fucking breath. So, not a lot to report this week. I had to help a friend move her whole life to another city. So outside my own working hours I was pretty much helping her pack and move. She didn't have anyone else who could, and I wasn't going to leave her to try and do all of that shit herself. Anyways, we finally got the last of the boxes into a cold storage for now until the apartment she's moving into is ready for the little things. Thankfully the furniture was all done yesterday and today. I did learn some stuff though about Blender. Some really... soft, jiggly things. I need to run some tests and do a little probing, but once I have the test done, I'll post it for you guys. It's going to be fucking legendary. Anyways, gonna chop it off here. I have to try and eat something and maybe take a short nap before I need to prepare the spare bedroom for my son. He's flying in tonight and staying for the month on his summer break before he has to get back to basketball. Can't wait to see my little man. Well... he ain't so little anymore. Pretty sure he's taller than me now...

Hey everyone, hope you all had a good week. Happy Father's day to all you papa's out there. Another slow week. My son being here, plus some internal fuckery at my company, didn't leave a lot of time for 3D. I did pick up a new program called Marmoset Toolbag. What a dope ass program. Right now I'm just using it to bake normal maps so I don't have to use things like displacement maps or multi-resolution sculpts within Blender. They slow the shit out of everything. Speaking of slow as shit. I really wanted to have a little animation preview for you guys but I just couldn't fucking do it. One, the physics still need some work, but beyond that, I have shit components for viewport performance and simulations. My RAM is slow as fuck, and my CPU is made for gamers, not 3D artists. I couldn't even try and preview the sim in real time. Most I got was about 8fps(frames per second). So you can imagine how impossible it was to try and make adjustments when I couldn't even see what the fuck was going on at any reasonable frame rate. So I finally got fed up enough with it all and decided to build a dedicated workstation with 3D focuses components. I have all the parts on order already. Estimated delivery will be around the 20th or so. One of the best CPU's for 3D, super fast as fuck RAM, and a mobo dedicated to 3D artists and animators. I'll continue to run my 4090 on that system for now, until I feel like I actually need to upgrade. I barely game anymore, and the ones I do still play are more than handled on my 3070ti system. So, that's the plan. Once I have the new system up and running, and I've set up my dedicated libraries and assets. I'll finally be able to run sims at a rate I can visualize and change. Then I'll be able to share little previews of animations / sims without wasting 4-8 hours rendering a shit animation for nothing.

Mod and Android port for the game, used the compressed game version as a base
(+WT hints and some more game settings)

New game version is out.
After a quick check the whole game coding has changed.
I will have a more detailed look at it at some free time

Edit:
Tried the game now, but on my (not new) PC the game got stuck in the bar intro.
Checked the scripts, seems there are many "show" commands but without the "hide" after.
That oc filles the RAM with the 4k renders...

Anyway, I set my Mod/port to onhold. Makes no sense to continue when I actually can't even playtest it.

Open chapterxxx.rpy, find "show", replace with "scene", replace all

You get an error message in the beggining but you move on and play regularly

It worked in my playing PC which is more or less about 10 years old
