Jack continues to be impressed by his fellow artists. This is an exemplary thread for creativity. Jack has finished the last instalment of Scene 53, "Making New Friends in Low Places" set in the morning of Tuesday, Day 60.
For new readers: The synopsis of the story so far is on page 898 (April 24, 2022), and the beginning of the story is on page 469 (March 17, 2021).
(Sam) Where are your clothes?
(Ruby) They threw them on the train as it was leaving, but I got on Marcus' pants.
(Sam) Here, take this gun. Do you need a shirt?
(Ruby) No, I'll get that off Marcus too.
(Sam) Why do you risk yourself?
(Ruby) My mom has lupus, and her annual Benlysta infusion costs 35,000.
Sam is beginning to realize that the reasons for and history of the denizens of the underworld are more complex than he thought. Sam will have to meditate on this. Meanwhile, we the audience will move on to the next scene when Jack has it ready. He hopes to have an instalment by tomorrow.
