My boss once told me:
I prefer to work with someone who works a little less well but who finishes on time, than to have someone who does their job really well but always ends up late.
With one, I will always be paid and keep my customers, with the other, I will be broke.

You probably know that many creators died in poverty.

Yeah i know. But L&P is not Van Gogh, Allan Poe etc
And he doesn't work for him. You forget that his working tools, his patrons who paid him through a subscription each month. The artists, them, started with their own tools their vision of their art often out of step with their time. But they followed their idea. Here L&P works for an audience whose expectations it knows. Not for an audience that does not know anything about fauvism and expressionism, literature, etc.

Translation is indeed an art in itself. Several members of my extended family have done translation work and one family member has made it a full time career for nearly a decade now. Even with their expertise and experience I sometimes get asked to review bits and pieces where they are unsure if something sounds natural or colloquial enough - not often, to be sure. And yeah, it is sometimes funny to see how something written in a foreign language gets translated when there are no obvious equivalents - the passage has to be completely rewritten in order to convey the same idea.

I don't speak the source language but I still see and understand the pitfalls and difficulty even among very experienced translators. So no, you don't need to be multi-lingual to understand, that's silly.

Of course, my friend, I understand you, but speaking of artists, I meant their general approach to the result of their work. For them, at a given moment in time, the assessments of others are not important, they want to receive at the exit the creation that is in their head and requires an exit. And the financial side, this is another, if not the last thing.

I am very glad that you are having fun!

But nevertheless, I will repeat myself. In fact, the problem is that we are not happy with the fact that we have to wait a long time for the continuation of his story.

Let's make an analogy with reading a book or watching a TV series.
If we are not interested in a book or TV series, we stop reading and watching!

In the case of AWAM, we are interested in the sequel! But we manage to accuse the author of not providing us with the next chapter within the previously agreed period.
And we would be right, but only if we had other financial and legal relations with the author, and not voluntary patronage.
First off,

Let's make an analogy with reading a book or watching a TV series.

This isn't an analogy; it's more of a concept. An analogy is more like this “Life is like a box of chocolates—you never know what you're gonna get.” This implies that you may get something that makes you feel good in life or bad. You don't know.

In AWAM's case, it's about advertising and what he is promoting in return for becoming one of his members and nothing to do with contracts or legal relations. We can use multiple examples here, but the one that stands out is his tier level. Here are four comparisons.

Legend > Master > Pro > Advance
1620747540656.png 1620747564024.png 1620747600726.png 1620747636006.png

If you go back through his updates, you'll notice that we don't get half the things he said he was promoting. The 6 days earlier is misleading as the legend gets access to it on release and all the other tier days after. The 1080p version applies to all tiers and is not unique to Legend; plus, he started the 1080p update in the last version but advertised this from the start of his novel was in 720p. Access to some hot scenes was only one hot scene given to us back on 10.16.20. The vote for the future game topic is not unique to the Legend tier since all the voting included the Master and Pro tier, and that was more in line with aspects of the game instead of topics.

The only three things we really get are early access, name in credits, and I guess you're awesome??? Now, anyone of his Patreon can stop the membership fee at any time of their choosing, but once again, it what's he advertising that you'll get once you join, which is misleading and false in some examples.

Again, I understand you! You personally, and not only you, have the formal right to make claims to him. You have every right to express them to L&P.
But I believe that you, like me and many others, understand that if the L&P begins to bring its work in accordance with the previously stated promises and rules, then we will see the results of its work even later.
Probably for this reason I am reading your claims, not L&P.
I give you your due, you are right and you have a formal reason to express your claims.
But I will not do this, for me personally, these discrepancies are insignificant.

For me personally, those analogies that I expressed earlier are closer. But we are all different, you have a different opinion. I agree with him in some part or disagree, but in any case, I respect him.

A bit off-topic, but could you guys recommend some games that have an amazing plot or story? I'm looking for something that's more than just porn. It doesn't necessarily have to be incest; any category will do.
I can only think of Summer Scent, but could you guys recommend some more?
Jessica O'neil's Hard News (in progress, female protag)
Being a DIK (in progress, probably the most popular and well rounded game out there)
Acting Lessons (Complete, and from the same team that is doing Being a DIK. Often cited as THE adult visual novel)
Good Girl Gone Bad (Complete, 2d graphics but incredibly intricate story with branching paths. Female protag.)

The corruption point of no return is not reached yet, but speed decreeesed to 1 update per half a year, and its not a full playday. Yes, in this update will be more events, and I hope it will worth every minutes of awaiting, but really, I cant imagine, how author will handle with all characters, storilines, desigions, consequences. And all of this must look realistic enought.
In my guess update time will decreeesed to update per a year for 1 playday.
Actually there will be no more events. After all we are talking for 1/3 of a day,not 1/2.

I don't know that I'd call people stupid over this, unless we consider it stupid to not think things through or succumb to knee-jerk impulsivity. I think everyone has moments of not-so-stupid, that is, able to think things through, and moments of stupid, that is, reacting without thinking. Depending on the situation, reflexivity can be more important than circumspection.

It's a saying, nothing more. You said you had experiences on this topic with people close to you and your conclusions are interesting. Nothing more.
My comment, about translation, was in response to a link with German-English translators.
Imagine sending them the text of the shower scene between Ellie and Sophia or the one that comes, Sophia/Dylan. You can't be sure they don't call the Polizei.
So, nothing more, I didn't want to shorten Socrates, so I put all his words:) .

Quite right. And instead of translation, L&P gets some kind of trouble.
I find it very strange to notice that so many people do not understand the huge range of problems that prevent L&P from releasing updates more often. :(

I hear you. It was said many times before I got my response in, but I completely agree that you cannot send out a general solicitation for translation services and then turning over Dylan peeking on his mom and her friends in the shower, Ellie/Julia/Sophia pool scene, Dylan masturbating to his mom at the (beach iirc?), and so on. Never mind the more vanilla sexual elements. I do empathize that getting a reliable and quality translator on board would be a challenge.

(That said - L&P, send me the German, I'll hit google translate and then clean it up for you?!!)

Problems disappear the moment we go to the other world! Being there is so wonderful and without problems that no one has ever returned from there.
In this perishable and sinful world in which we live, problems accompany us everywhere.
It all depends on how we treat them and how we perceive them. No more than that.
