To answer your question, for me it will be as soon Sophia will start cheating on him, everything will be in place for Liam to do the same, leading to the failure of everything etc etc
Again it's just an impression I had playing just for the first time yesterday.

L&P said that it was originally planned to alternate the story from Sophias and then from Liam's point of view. When he then realized that this was not manageable, the Liam path was deleted. I think that was originally the case with the protagonists cheating on each other on their ways. Now the question arises how much of Liam's path is still in the current story of Sophia.
