Yeah, I'd totally agree that the point you're making here is the only somewhat reasonable way to explain how Sophia could have intercourse with her sister, I just don't see Sophia going there on PD15 considering her current state of mind, internal monologues and overall progression in the story with her sister or anyone for that matter, really. I guess the big problem is that L&P gave himself only 30 ingame days, making it pretty much impossible to turn this into a believable story. I guess at some point he has to just fast forward things, believable or not.
Regarding your question as to what I'd consider to be lesbian sex, well, for hetero scenes that's pretty obvious. On the lesbian route, I'm thinking of penetration with fingers, oral, scissoring...Yeah, I'd say that'd be considered lesbian sex. I don't expect Patricia to whip out a strap-on dildo for Sophia's first incestuous lesbian sex scene. Then again...It's Patricia we're talking about.
I'm not entirely ruling lesbian sex with Sophia on PD15 out, I just don't believe that L&P will make it happen as it would require alot of progress on the corruption front within the next 1,5 PD's, imo. But yeah, I guess the "between us girls" argument could totally work out. Atleast I'm hoping for your sake that it does. I myself am not that excited about the lesbian scenes anyway.
Edit: Oh, and not to forget that I strongly believe in L&P's plans to postpone sex scenes with Sophia for as long as possible for various reasons, but you know my stance on that topic.
I see the Suday event at the ranch as a multi-stage series of events, where Patricia and the horse-back riding will get Sophia warmed up, followed by other activities that will get Sophia relaxed and then excited, leading to a climactic evening.
For example:
Patricia teases Sophia on the ride there, telling her how good she looks while stroking her thigh while Patricia drives (and Patricia has already gotten Zoe involved in the plan to get Sophia to 'loosen up' a bit).
They meet Zoe at the Ranch and ride out to a pond for lunch and impromptu swimming.
During the ride, there is a stretch of ground where the ladies pick up the pace and the bouncing of Sophia on the saddle gets her excited.
When they get to the lake, they lay out a blanket and have lunch along with several bottles of wine.
Patricia asks Sophia how she is feeling after her first real horseback riding in years and Sophia responds that her butt is a bit sore but she is fine.
After lunch and a bottle of wine, Patricia and Zoe strip to go skinny dipping as they have the pond all to themselves. They persuade Sophia to strip to her underwear and swim with them.
When they get out of the water, they talk while having another bottle of wine.
They decide to take in some sun. Patricia puts sunscreen on first Zoe, then she spends more time on Sophia, getting Sophia to remove her bra to dry (hey - it's only us girls, right...)
Patricia makes a point of using the sunscreen to justify giving Sophia a massage on her back, including the sides of her breasts and Sophia, relaxed by the wine and the sun decides to let Patricia go further with the lotion when Patricia strays and lotions all of her breasts playing with Sophia's nipples periodically. She backs off before Sophia builds up the will to say stop and shifts her attack.
Patricia gives Sophia a foot massage with the lotion, taking her time with Sophia's feet (Probably a homage here to anyone that likes feet).
She then shifts to Sophia's calves and Sophia lets her move her legs apart so Patricia can move between them to 'better apply the sunscreen' (Sophia is getting excited but, with the wine and the sun, decides that this is still fine).
Patricia massages Sohpia's thighs, then changes position so one knee is barely touching Sophia's crotch and Patricia is straddling Sophia's leg, so she can 'put sunscreen' on Sophia's ass.

I think this kind of scenario would fit the timeline, work with Sophia's gradual path accepting lesbian affection, and still reflect her reluctance to actively return the pleasure a woman is giving her.
