Really, there's something I don't understand.
Could someone explain to me how the programming and testing part can take so long?
I've never developed a porn game, but I did a bit of programming at university, and I've had my hands in enough (bad) renpy code to make a few modifications that I don't see how it's possible for a game like AWAM to take more than a handful of hours, including testing.
I don't even understand why all this isn't done during development, so redundant is this task if it isn't automated.

He is not just slow.
There must be a new word for his speed.
The 3 years project is turning into 30-40 years.

I didn't feel any intention in your writing, and I think you wrote your feelings.

However, this developer is not a perfectionist.
Even if he said so.

Perfectionists don't start unprepared, but this developer did.

The perfectionist scrutinizes the material, but this developer did not confirm the difference between rendering quality and animation quality.

The perfectionist has an obsession with dates, but this developer often didn't keep the dates.

And this developer doesn't know the real world (human psychology and behavioral patterns) to the extent that it's frustrating.
(I have a lot of things I really want to say, but I hold back in case people get bored.)

This developer is merely packaging themselves convincingly and expressing frustration towards their sponsors.

The reason he renders like this is because he learned to render like this.
Fortunately.

I'd actually be interested in trying it out one day, but unfortunately I'm not artistically inclined. :LOL:

I'm curious to know what you think could be automated? :unsure:

If the Word document is correctly constructed (with, for example, a pseudo tagging system: [Sophia]; [image1]; [music1]; [fade]; [if --var]; [jump --scene1] etc.) and the files used intelligently named, a simple script can take care of translating it into renpy code.
All that's left to do then is to change the default values of certain parameters and do the rare cases that are a little complex by hand.

But making such a script wouldn't make sense in itself, because directly programming a few Word pages once they've been written is probably just as quick as tagging them...

No need to be an artist, work as a code monkey for an artist :p

Like you said, I'm not sure it's worth it. Maybe there is something to dig here :unsure:

That is a very good decision, one of the fundamental problems of AWAM is the amount of extra characters that L&P has included and that are not very relevant neither to the story nor to the taste of the fans, a strange moment of reflection for L&P, hopefully more will come.
