Wanna know how little the dev cares about this game/community? There's been a bot in the discord server for 2 days spamming the same Roblox server invite. I really doubt the validity of the statement said last month where the dev said that development will start sooner then expected. It's been a month since then, and no follow up to that statement.

It still could be sooner than expected if development was supposed to start again in 2035 :ROFLMAO: .
But seriously, it is unfortunate, because I really liked this game. I am doing an end of the year scrub right
now of my old game links and the list of abandoned games is getting rather long . It is not looking too good.
A new AI game comes up every week which is okay, but a real quality game start up is getting more rare .

The developer is very eccentric (and who else could make such an eccentric game?), unfortunately this trait is poorly combined with the actual development and normal update schedule. The communication with the parties is also lame. Probably His Majesty just got bored with it. So we (commoners) can only humbly wait for his mood to change.

And what he says isn't relevant. Literally. It's not worth paying attention to.

I personally think:

  • If a game is abandoned in the beginning - that means people did not like it or the developer could not keep up, etc.
  • But if the game is almost finished (0.75) and then abandoned - it is always sad. People always think "why not to finish it - only a few releases left and if necessary the developer can take some break and then continue", because everybody wants to the the end of the story. ;)

Mundo Games - we all really hope that you will come back some day and finish this amazing story!

And here we go again... That's not how versions work! It's not a percentage! Version 0.75 doesn't mean it's three quarters done! Versions go from 0.9 to 0.10 to 0.11! Which means it was completely possible it went to 0.125 and still there wouldn't have been an end in sight.

It could even evolve into v0.95.4f, if they began making iterative small changes.
A large portion of the time, 1.0 ends up being the completed product, in which case those ARE percentages.
But, I have seen games go well past the 1.0 mark.
And, even 0.785.153.839f or whatever, it can still end up at 1.0.0.0. And hell, there are even devs who will bounce around like from "0.54f ALPHA" to "0.54f BETA" then to "Chapter 6", with no version numbers, then something random AF that has nothing to do with either of the previous.
I see no consistency at all with some devs. BUT...one thing that I've noticed, in the majority of games I play on here, is that they usually end up at 1.0 if it ends up completed, then it may get some sorta bugfix or "alternate endings" update that will put it at 1.05 or something.

Point is, though, that many devs do in fact use it as a percentage, so all of that "here we go again" nonsense is really unnecessary, and actually a bit inaccurate, considering not every dev does it how it is supposed to be done, and it is very understandable for people to think that is the norm for all games.

The answer to all of this is "Maybe or maybe not".

Only the game developer knows the real answer - which means we should ask Mundo Games games. :)

I'd say there's an equal number of games where you have a v0.65 or even v0.21 or something and then it jumps to v1.0. In those cases, it absolutely is not a percentage in any way, shape, or form.

Other than v1.0 being pretty standard as a "completed" indicator (but still not absolutely so), the only thing a version number is meant to do is to tell a user (player) that one version is newer than the previous one. That's actually the entire point of versioning, full stop. So using Chapter 1, Chapter 2, Chapter 3...; or Episode 1, Episode 1.5, Episode 2; or v0.8, v0.9, v1.0; or v0.8, v0.9, v0.10, v0.11; etc. doesn't matter at all, so long as a newer version shows the player which has the latest content.

Sometimes other indicators are used to show the progress of the current version (v0.54a, v0.54b, v0.54c). At other times, they can indicate two versions of content (Chapter 6p for Patreon, Chapter 6ss for Subscribestar, Chapter 6st for Steam, etc.). Telling users what to expect from which version is the whole reason to have versioning in the first place. As long as it either adheres to common standards in the industry or has otherwise been clearly laid out by the dev, it really doesn't matter what the versioning looks like. (Developers are, of course, generally very strongly encouraged to keep it simple enough to be understandable, even if an explanation goes along with it, however.)

Come on, you want to ask the most chaotic and irrational person? I'm surprised the versions are even in ascending order. More appropriate for this game would be jumping up and down versions.

I think people like to complain about the developer (which is normal for many games now), but look how many posts are here now (and the last update was more than a year ago), which means many game fans love this game and want to hear "some good news".

Did I say something bad about the game or the developer? To say that this game (and the developer) is rational is insulting...

Yes, because a number before the dot means it's a complete product. Anything with a 0 before the dot, means it's an unfinished product.

No, no they're not. You still go from 0.157756 to 1.0, just like you can go from 1.8 to 2.0. Still not a percentage, just a version number.
But, I have seen games go well past the 1.0 mark.
Yes, because they add things after the completed product.

That is of course if the game was close to it's end. Often people use weird numbering systems, which do not always reflect where the game is. Normally a release of 1.0 is final, but not always. I too hope that he comes back one day,but i am not holding my breath on that happening,it seemed like he had lost where the story was going,it seemed a little all over the place, but that was fine, I found the story really funny! There where some really nice models being used in his vn.

Then explain these (sure I could find more, but these are just a few I'm presently playing/following):
You don't have permission to view the spoiler content. Log in or register now.
There are others that use "Chapter" instead of "version" that don't have a leading "0". The point is, there is no hard and fast rule or absolute, just some conventions more common than others.
