It looks as if the pictures were drawn higher res. and compressed to get a pixelated aesthetic. It's like pixel art without any of the stylization of pixel art. It's pixelated just to be pixelated :l
Pixel purist moment.

Maybe this guy just want the game look this way.
Maybe he do that so technically it looks more erotic than porn as legal defence. (not sure if it worked in RF tho)

I mean, it's nothing like that. I'm moreso just baffled. People do pixel art because:

1. It's less time-consuming (once you get a bit good at it)
2. It has a unique simplified aesthetic.

Doing what this artist did achieves neither of those things. It's just such an odd choice.

He is not an artist at all. At least in traditional meaning. He take HS2 models and pixel them.
I'm pretty sure its even less time consuming.
It still gives unique aesthetic. And it hides ton of small problems, that otherwise he would have to spend hours fixing.

could just be me but does this game run like, reaaally bad for anyone else? i dont exactley have the best computer but i can play pretty much most games ive seen and downloaded on this site, even bigger games than this with full 3d+fluent animations.

Like i dont know much about this typa stuff but im not sure why this runs so bad, it only happens in the fight and even when nothings happening itll just start to get really choppy and then soon crash within a minute (also the first fight meaning the goblins in the cave walking around)

I mean, an art direction is a choice in and out of itself, sometimes it's not decided at all for worktime/"usual" aesthetic. Take for example Ori and the Blind Forest - it very well could be pixelart instead of what it is, and both would look good, and that's the point really. If it is enjoyable to look at then your choice wasn't bad in any way. And if you want to do something to stick out, you must really think hard - it's not like he could make a unique gameplay mechanic in RPGMaker. In a porn game on top of it. It's propably his way of differentiating from other games made with HS, like that pile of VNs lying over there on the internet.

As for the artist thing... hmm. That's actually an intersting debate. Is the time spent for the art the one thing that makes an artist, or are those the tools that he uses? Or just a "default" way of calling someone who makes any form of art? Tricky, but I think it is the effect that really matters, not the tool or time or otherwise. If someone is making a landscape in AI Generator and spends six hours on selecting those promts over and over again each generation, and the final output is nice, let him be called an artist. If he makes the models in honey Select 2 and does the scenes in Studio and pixelates thet so they still look nice, let him be called an artist. Doing a good(emphasis on that) scene with that is not quick, I'm talking from self experience, propably quicker than drawing tho. Hell, if a guy would place blocks in minecraft and make screenshots of some fine fapable material, I'd be calling him artist all day long.

Just for the lulz of it, imagine that: a guy saying none of that on the internet is art, and none of the people are artists, bc it's not painted on canvas or sculpted for four years, like Leonard da Vinci and the squad did. That would be funny to listen to.

Problem is, hs2 lacks individuality most of the time. Even if you spend time setting your own poses and your own models.

imho artist draws from the scratch. Traced art is not art. 3D art is art only if you modeled it from the scratch, which is not the case in hs2.
It doesn't mean 3dcg makes game worse. Its just much less time consuming and skill bound.

Yeah, exactly that. Individuality would be the thing with HS2 scenes, it's so abundant AND similar in certain ways, at one point you just know at a glance its from hs2. But the 3dcg overall less time consuming and skill bound? C'mon, some models take hours on end to sculpt and texture, not to mention backgrounds and miscellaneous items to enchance renders, which you do learn through experience, just like drawing. Long time spent on specific piece really does put it on the same note as drawings or paintings even, not necessairly being less time-consuming. But that is the case really - time and experience making the plesant to watch art, not really the tools or medium. You just see the difference in a piece made under an hour to one worked on throught the whole day.

On the side note - I am checking boosty of the guy making this game, and I see the price of subscription, backing and what not are regularly decreasing: first time it was 5$, then I saw 4,9$, then 4,5$, now it's 4,4$. Curious:unsure:.

Boosty is russian platform, I guess its just 1$ going from 60rub up to maybe 70.

Unless you doing it from scratch, yes. And after you made a model its much less time consuming to pose it, than to completely redraw how traditional artists do. Not to mention premade poses if we are talking about daz or hs/hs2
In this particular case, as I already told, pixelization is smart move - less work with shadows, less work with skin texture, less work with clipping, and (speculation) technically less likely to get legal "porno" status, which is a grey zone in russia.
And, to make things clear, I never said that I didn't like it. Its just an optimization. Tbf an old deviant like myself can fap to text only, almost any visualization is a bonus in my eyes.

It is? Aside from my own, I know only Japanese(guess why) legal gimnastics involved in making porn and what is and what is not allowed. Never have I imagined russia have more stern look on that.

Porn laws in Russia are strange as fuck. Watching is completely legal. Producing is completely illegal, but is done anyway.
So everyone who makes it kind of walks on thin ice.
- this was ratified and never changed.

With the power of google translate underperforming despite my low expectations and searching russian websites with anything binary, here is 0.1 version I found. From the demo this one have two new scenes with slimes, and bunnysuit tavern gangbang scene, also some minor things with pure RPG parts, like shop and new skill. If I will find 0.2, I will throw it here, until then - enjoy.
