I just checked out your Patreon page and want to commend you for the excellent amount of information and sample pictures you provide. Too many developers don't provide enough information about what they do or provide enough samples of their work. I think you have done a good job of presenting yourself.

The general rule of thumb concerning Ren'Py saves is that, unless the developer specifically states otherwise, saves are not compatible with newer versions.

I don't think that's accurate. So long as the game engine wasn't messed around with, adding variables and that the old saves wouldn't have, old saves ought to work on later versions...

. . . aaaand the developer specifically states in the changelog, "As long as the game was saved at the end of Episode 1 (when prompted or later), the game can be continued from previous save files without any issues."
Which may not be the reason for @Soccergod2666's question, but it does at least make it a sensical one.

You're right. But I read Jerricho's post to mean that "a safe assumption is" rather than something like "this is always the case", and I generally assume that myself too. Just my nickel's worth

constant errors..i removed my old install and started fresh..yet still happening..the mentions of the names in the acting help of the amish thingie..and talking to melissa anywhere gives me errors that sayer is not defined..i only added one file..i'm still new here and not sure the procedures so if i'm doing wrong please inform me

You need to start a new game rather than using your save from the last version. Think that should fix it.

HA!...i'm an old widower living alone..not hiding from people that do not exist..LOL...i turn game music off while i play and play my own tunes...so its convenient having it all in one area

During the meeting with Melissa at the coffee shop Melissa's name is used for one line that was suppose to be for Meghan.
That error is due to the new implemented hint system. Unless you saved at the very end in last episode (at the prompt) you'll have to start fresh from the beginning. Also, make sure that you download EVERYTHING again and not just add separate rpa files.
26 animations and extra renders. Animations will always be in the extra material.
