Liam is a loyal best friend, but he's also a prankster and immature.
I think some people don't like Liam because of the issue of agency. If a game says "this guy is your best friend and he can get away with being an ass because you're so close", what happens if the player disagrees? AL mostly doesn't let players opt out of Liam's pranks. Instead, the game explains why they should like it.
So if someone starts out not liking Liam, they might like him less over time because the MC is basically forced to go along with Liam's pranks and put up with his immaturity.
I don't really think this is one of AL's flaws, though. Liam's character is central to the drama, and the story pretty much only works if players roleplay the MC as Liam's best friend.

Jessie talks about something the MC experienced TWO weeks ago AFTER the fire
at the end we saw the room and the MC getting drugged but only after telling Melissa to come and get him
so what if melissa shows up and our lovely Nurse kill her in front of a drugged useless MC
tho it would be interesting to know how he survives
i think the happy ending is with Rena or None

I was sad when it ended. I wanted to play Witcher forever and never stop...Sorry, talking about the Witcher made me think of this. One of the coolest things I think a Dev team ever put together. Promise it will be my last off topic post. In case some people missed it when it came out, it's just too cool not to share.
Witcher 3 is a good example of exceptional game writing. But that they felt fans needed this video, and we did, speaks volumes because there was no money for the studio in it. It was just to honor all the fans of the game.

Just finished my first playthrough and brutal... just brutal. Talk about being on a high and enjoying the shit outta the story then judo chop right to the guts...

As female I cried a lot, maybe 1-2 hours. This story is remind me what happend with my brother, same things. The game is ... i have no word ... Finally a real novel and not a sick and incest game. Fun, love, romantic, date, sex, dramas, psychopath etcera. Beautiful novel.

Sorry for the slow reply. A lot of what is said in this post is close to why i don't like him, but for me its slightly more. I found Liam most of the time enables and actively encourages poor behaviour from the MC but then actively calls him out for it. His stuck in his college frat years personlity also reminds me of a former friend who i cut out of my life for acting the way Liam does and just generally bringing out the worst in me.
No worries on the timing. I just come in here to chill between renders. But thanks for offering up your insight. I really am dying to play this game but with the conclusion so close and me so busy already, I just can't bring myself to fire it up.
I've told myself that after our next update, I'll set aside the time. So here's hoping it's done by then. Cheers mate!
