From what the vn shows it appears that peta did perhaps in collusion with leah who lit the fire, the sleeping gas would seem like a leah thing with her medical background and easy access to med shit...
I do agree with you, That WOULD be the Sane thing to do... What would be even saner is GET THE FUCK OUT after the break in... and NEVER leave the girls side without serious heavily armed security nearby...
For a Trader this MC really is a TOTAL TOOL.

I FUCKING KNEW IT! I fucking knew I sensed that she was psychotic! I could see it when we took her to lunch that day. There was that little glint in her eye for fuck's sake. Please tell me I'm not the only one who noticed it? I could see/sense that she was somewhat psychotic if not a bit yandere-ish.

If only we could have grabbed both girls what he should have done was drag them both towards the window and shouted outside for someone to stand just outside the window to help as there were a few people witnessing the fire he then could have got one of the girls out with the help of any of the people there and he could have got the other girl out himself that would have been the ideal thing to have done.

Oh, believe me, I'd do that if it were that simple I'd also make Leah less crazy and more of a romance option
and of course get what we all wanted an ending with both Megan and Melissa alive and well and all together.

Leah is actually a very attractive girl, Her personality in this very Loving As well... However... I think the dev did go a wee bit overboard me tinks in turning her into the Predator that she became...Oh, believe me, I'd do that if it were that simple I'd also make Leah less crazy and more of a romance option
I would have liked to have seen leah as an actual Love interest, with her level of a loving nature that could have been a Gorgeous storyline...

She was great before the incident ever occurred the whole reveal about her being this crazy stalker type was out of the blue. We did have the option to go out on a date with her much earlier in the game but if I'm thinking right we had to cancel I think? It was rather annoying that she had to take a back seat while we went and pursued the other girls I always think a path for her should have been left open and she might not have turned out to be so crazy if we had gone with her near the start. But now it makes me very wary of Redheads in his game because of that

I am guessing you got through the entire vn? How did you go at the housefire? and who did you pick?
Picked Melissa and Megan. Cheated with Rena at the cabin. Picked Megan at the housefire. It takes a pretty special kind of lewd game to draw me in for more than 20 minutes, and an even more special one to make care about the story, characters, and dialogue so much that I don't use skip OR rollback because I want to plat it out legitimately. Playing through DIK next.

For me quite possibly the hardest choice I've ever had to make in a VN as soon as I made the choice that was me I just shut it down, I really don't like choices like that at all I'm here to enjoy but making that choice was far from enjoyable and I hope we don't have to see a choice like that in his other game.

Personally I agree with you... No win scenarios are bad from any angle ...
My thoughts on this are that the dev just wants some extra modders in the community and this is his way of 'Encouraging' the late bloomers to show their talent...

Honestly, I picked Melissa. I'll readily, and without shame, admit that she was more attractive and I felt more connected to her than Megan. Not sure why I just liked her better as a character. I was still emotional at the fire decision. Probably the most emotion I've felt in my life.
