The saddest thing about that scene ... toward the end, you know the one ... is that it doesn't add anything to the story. It doesn't make it better in any way. It was wholly unnecessary to the story and just made everyone sad (or angry) for no good reason.

I understand exactly what you mean, but without that scene, it would just be another AVN and wouldn’t even be talked about today.

I guess ... maybe ... but it's still something that made the game/avn worse ... like a LOT worse. That said, I don't like BaDik at all so maybe he just peaked about Chapter 5 of Acting Lessons.

No Leah ending?
IIRC I read on this forum there is a Leah ending, but I can't guarantee, because I just wish we could get rid of her before the fucking arson and it makes no sense ending with such a maniac murderer.

After the arson scene I stopped enjoying the game, and thus I abandoned it.

like, whats the point of making it sad for no reason? it wouldve been one thing if it was a result of our choices, like the "bad" consequences you can get if you just bang everyone in DIK, but having a bad ending purely for a bad ending? what the fuck, dude, not cool to play us like that :(
I agree - it was a cheap stunt. It didn't make the game better, it didn't make the story better - it serves no real purpose except that people are still talking about it, but it has probably scared quite a few people away from the game while attracting no one. The reality is though that Dr. Pink Cake is not a very good writer so he has to disguise that with cheap, pointless emotional manipulation.

thats the thing. so far, i very much love the writing in DIK. if anything it was that game that made me want to play this game. its already good enough without any need for cheap gimmicks like this. i really hope they wont go that direction there as well

To each their own. I am not a fan of Being a DIK (writing or the story overall).

oh, well, personal taste, i guess. out of curiosity, what about it do you not like?
BaDIK really lost me from go. I don't like the story, I don't like most of the characters, I don't like the writing, I don't like some of the things that are not optional (for example I would just turn around and go home before I'd join a fraternity). And overall I find it a sort of Baby Boomers wet dream of what university is like. I'm old but I know quite a few people in university and most of them either still live with their parents or are working 1.5 - 2 jobs so they can stay in university and in their spare time they like to sleep. So just sort of a total miss on all levels.
