I think we discussed the "blind support" for dev's vs. holding dev's accountable on another thread.I'm glad you got some of what I was saying.
As I mentioned then, if dev's work like they can and should do, there usually wouldn't be anything to complain about with extended (years or long months) release delays and/or paltry updates. People can, and should, make their displeasure known when dev's act in a substandard way.
Do people do overboard? Perhaps, but sometimes the truth hurts, and dev's usually have a very easy remedy to countering complaints about release delay or size; release more frequently and make sure each release has a decent content boost per the length of time since the last update.
Content length/size should be inverse to the time from when content was last released. Take a few weeks, the realistic expectation would be a smaller update. Wait months, especially if it's 6 months or more, and release a small update? You deserve what you get as a dev from harsh feedback.
