I gave this a shot. To me, the art is really rough, and I saw nothing in my brief playthrough to encourage me to look past that.

Make sure you visit the kitchen in the mornings and eat breakfast (click on the food plate). Hopefully that solves your problem.
To run the mac version, you need to make two specific files to be executable.
In terminal, go to the folder that contains the app, then run the following two commands:
chmod 777 AftertheFire.app/Contents/MacOS/lib/darwin-x86_64/AftertheFire
chmod 777 AftertheFire.app/Contents/MacOS/AftertheFire

If you go to school on Saturday, you attend class, then it tells you there is no class today afterwards.
