Teasers are mostly for my patrons, but I might make one or two of them public :)
is it just me or did the game end like it's going to have a sequel and if it has a sequel will the relationship choices we made in this game carry over into the next
game

and if this game has a sequel I'm hoping we can continue or start a relationship with caelis

maybe we can find a way to bring her back to life or choose to be with her in the afterlife at the end of the game series

Holy Hellfire that was just downright Awesome... You should def have a lot more support. I don't think I have even seen a game on here with voices. This is one hell of a story; can't wait to see what you have next. Congratulations.

I'm playing through this from the beginning now that it's completed. I guess there won't be anymore changes at this point, but I just wanted to point out some QOL issues. The lack of text box is always an annoyance for me. It always clashes with certain background to some degree. It could be a suit of armor, or the bright tiles in the marketplace, but I have to get up right in front of the monitor to see. I guess a lot of people hate text boxes, but the ideal way is to make a transparency scale for the text box rather than removing it entirely.

The other thing that could be fixed is music that cuts off if you roll back once. Many games suffer from this.

Worse "sandbox" that I've ever seen.

I was thinking of playing a merc management game, not a light novel. There no liberty here, you need to read and read without doing anything but read...

Sandbox : a video game or part of a video game in which the player is not constrained to achieving specific goals and has a large degree of freedom to explore, interact with, or modify the game environment

Please remove the Sandbox tag.

I did the bad ending run for my first playthrough because I love morose shit like that. I did it with getting 2 endingpoints (aymee and elves bad ending). I got surprisingly attached to these characters. It's not often that I feel that way, especially with a story on the short side like this.

Kyra is pretty much absent if she doesn't join, so there isn't much to say about her. I felt like she was forgotten too completely in the script though. Many times, the MC talks or thinks about the situation with his former mercs and the script is tailored to a situation where Kyra survived. You could have added a few more conditionals where the MC is saddened that she chose to leave him, since holds a closer bond with him than the other mercs who "betrayed" him.

Homeboy Edric surviving was nice. The cook though .

The elves dying in each other's arms was poignant. Very sad... but also fitting for the bad ending of this nature.

Aymee was not one that I connected with as much as some of the others. I liked her well enough though. She is a beast, so I actually did expect her to survive through the bad ending. Her losing all her subordinates was actually exactly what I thought would happen and that makes a lot of sense for this ending.

Man, I loved Trysta. I love her archetype. She shields herself and keeps people at arms length with the professional and no-nonsense demeanor, but can get flustered and even show a cute side when you break through the barrier. It's a bit like BaDIK's Bella. Anyways, I was of course sad to see her go, but I was expecting it for the bad ending.

I'm not too sure what to make of the necromancy ending though. Is that him raising his old mercs... or was it the enemies? What is the significance? Is the MC and Edric going around fighting the Empire with necromancer army? His eye is still glowing so is that Caelis still connected to him?

Also, I would have liked to see more loose ends tied up. The dwarf won me over in the short screen time that he had. We don't see what happened to him, but I guess he died off screen. Izumi also kinda disappeared off screen. The blue hair merchant... is not a big character, but it could have been cool to see her lol. The biggest mishap is that Cressa is missing entirely from this ending. I think she should have joined the MC since she is presumably a wandering bandit or something, presumably. She could have been with MC and Edric at the final scene.

Overall, I liked the bad end. It made me sad and want to replay it and give them a better outcome lol.

Some areas for improvement as a dev.

I guess you've already realized the pseudo sandbox nature of the game was a bust. No need to beat a dead horse, but I'll just explain a little bit. For this game, the sandbox nature did not cause any sort of grind or annoyance, so that wasn't the issue. It was utterly pointless and unnecessary, though since it was almost entirely linear. What it did do, was actually detrimental to the pacing and immersion. You kinda lose the sense of time since you just keep clicking on the current route's area and continue to advance their plot. You'd expect some time to have passed between these events, but it doesn't come off that way. Also, talking to NPCs is pointless after you deplete their rather short free roam conversations. If you want to be ambitious, you could give it another shot, but I think a VN is better suited for your talents.

Perhaps the biggest avenue for improvement as a writer in your case could be in speech patterns and character personality. There are slight noticeable differences between the characters, but the vast majority of them come off incredibly similar. They are a bit sarcastic. They speak in a terse manner. They are generally rather reserved, even the "enthusiastic" sun elf. A lot of this has to do with their speech patterns being almost identical. They all have the same "voice," that of the writer.

Lastly, the sex scenes, while improved from the first iteration that I've seen way back then, is still on the unfappable side. Too short. Too little sex talks. That said, this could be a subjective point as sex talks are inherently a bit porny. If the goal isn't to get people to fap, you did a fine job with the scenes as they could be described as sensual and beautiful. The animations are smooth and look great. I loved the moaning sounds. I just viewed the scenes in this game as an exercise in artistic expression rather than porn.

I look forward to what you will make next. Good luck, and I hope you stay at it.

The ending you get depends on what choices you've made throughout the rest of the game. Here's a short guide, contains spoilers for all parts of the game.

Thanks for the feedback! These are all things I'm looking to improve upon :)

Also I made a few additions to my ending guide, because their fates may vary. Just if you're curious.

Oh, one more thing...

I think making the bad end trigger at 3 or less ending points would be better. I would have liked to form that closer bond with Kyra before the final battle instead of just cutting her out of the story entirely. The only way to see the Kyra extended bad end is to not complete one of the other routes, and that is not ideal.

If your worry was people stumbling on the bad end accidentally, I don't think that is a big concern. There is quite a lot of leeway for getting the individual good ends for the routes. It's also quite obvious which choices would lead to a negative outcome. Realistically, you'd have to be deliberately going for the bad end to see it.

Just finished the game, I really enjoyed it! It was certainly a hidden gem, I didn't expect such smooth animation or a genuinely interesting plot! Wish there was more Kyra content I will admit, she was delightful. Similar complaints to others about the somewhat awkward execution of sandbox in the game, but nothing other than that (albeit I wish it had lasted longer). Gladly awaiting your next game Classy Lemon 10/10 for me

Good game but got some deja vu from a couple of lines then near the end I realised it definitely copied some moments from the lord of the rings :KEK:

I have to agree on the point of sandbox games. It's better to reserve that kind of thing for games with actual gameplay outside of lewd things like many other games do. Say what you will about RPGM or Unity or Unreal but while some of the worst games use those engines they also are used by some of the best games. I will emphasize this one trait of yours I see though, you care a lot more about world building then some people. I really found myself wanting a sequel or prequel or even a spinoff because I just wanted to see and learn more about this world. The characters did come off as same-y a fair bit of a time and it would have been nice to have them show a few more personality traits that make them unique even if similar. Still even with it's flaws this was awesome.

I wanted this to be longer than it was but at the same time I kind of want to see new adventures of these people. Cressa is learning to control her powers and that could make for a great story and fantastic RPG like game where you basically manage her time to make her as powerful and skilled as possible. Aymee learns to take charge but can she master the skills she was shown? Where do her military campaigns take her? Does she start her own mercenary company and part with her commander to prove herself out in the world and become like the MC in this game? Could make a damn good strategy/tactics RPG lite game. What about a full on RPG for the elven knight you help?

I'll state it plainly. This is more of the beginnings of an IP than a standalone adult novel. If you keep working at this in your free time it could easily make it to the market as a non Japanese adult game IP. The animations, lack of censors on genitalia and more realistic look would make this game and any more you make based on the world really stand out in the adult games market. I think this is worth pursuing as a real long term project.

It might not make you rich but it could make you a living. My suggestion is to shore up your weak spots first. Look into practicing writing characters by writing short stories and start thinking "Why is this in my game?" when adding any feature. This will prevent useless sandbox or unnecessary grinding elements.

I will end this long winded tirade of a post with a small story. I made an adventure based off of this game's setting and lore. It's short and only one character from the game makes an appearance when you meet with a merchant at the market and suddenly decide to get something to eat. My group loved the blue haired vendor and were incredibly interested in the setting. One player was visibly disappointed when I had to explain to them that there was no more to the setting as I am not it's creator. I merely borrowed it to make an adventure that I might see if my gut instinct on it's value was right. So to cap this off I'm going to quote my players. Please note the Englishman has a very informal manner of speaking among friends and pardon his French.

"You bitch. Get your ass to wherever you found this creator and tell him to get off his lazy ass and make more shit. I want to travel to the damned empire!" ~ Daniel

"Wait you said this came from an adult game? So it's got an actual game worthy setting even though it has adult content?" ~ Vincent

"It's not every day you see interesting religions in any setting. They tend to follow a certain mythos or set of rules. I really liked how these strange priests worked. Were they death priests or something?" ~ Linus

"Damn that explosion with the magical ore...crystal...whatever it was, was freaking awesome. I can't believe that the game had a similar moment where it was used to power a massive spell that wiped out an army." ~ John

The entire group looks forward to the day they can continue the adventures of, "We R' Us, Creative Solutions Mercenary Company".
