The correct thing to do is, on the first lie a dev tells, everyone withdraws support. If the dev wanna live from gaming, he have to deliver the content first, like any company does. If he wants support WHILE he develops it, he can have trouble with the speed, but never lie.
Supporting an unfinished product is based on trust, since you're not getting a product for your money. So if the dev betray supporters trust, if anyone withdrew support, only the devs who wanted to really deliver a product, would continue, less milking, less bs, more space for new serious dev to work and release their products.
