Itch is a mixed bag. There's good and bad - as far as developer friendly I'd have to give the nod to steam. Even though itch takes a smaller cut of the profits than steam, it doesn't provide nearly as much.Thanks for the response and the offer, I'll just get it on Steam then since its more convenient.
Out of curiosity is there a reason you'd advise against Itch? I always assumed they were the most developer friendly being and Indie platform but I also have never developed or distributed a game in my life so there's plenty I don't know
All of that said the real reason I advise against itch is because it's the most expensive option. Using USD prices (since prices are regional), outside of sales Steam is $10 (with a sale going on currently), Itch is $12, and patreon is $10. This is mostly because itch comes with additional logistics that make it less worthwhile to sell there, hence the higher tag.
