So i have a problem here. When I play on window mode, the graphic are kinda edgie, but when I play on full Screen, there's a black screen appearing between the drawing transitions that doesn't happen on window. Any fix for that?
I have the same problem, and i found a fix. So this game recommend resolution 1600x900, just change to that and you won't get those black screen whenever cg changes + no edgie. But... my monitor optimal resolution is 1366x768 so outside of the game, things gets too small and i'm not used to it :). Welp, guess imma change to the required resolution whenever i want to play this game

You can download part1 and part2 from MEGA, neither exceeds 5 gigs. If you mean the 5 gig limit per user, just wait 4-5 hours and you can download again.

Alright, for those who dled the raw torrent and was confused (like i was) on how it works, here's a simple one for you

2.png
dl these two

1.jpg
follow installation order as shown, 1 to 5

finally, copy and overwrite the contents of "complete translation patch" into the game folder
(there are also instructions in the eng patch folder... which i found out later)

run AGE.EXE

everything should work well and be as it is supposed to be, you can check by going to help>version info on the game window, it should say something along the lines of ver1.03 +ap01/ap02

enjoy!

I'm getting some random intermittent display flickering when fullscreen, like the entire screen is faintly flashing between normal and darker, anyone know what could be causing this?

The main menu screen says "Version 1.00.0000". But the Eushully little append-confirming icons are there. (Both append 1 & 2)
Did I download a well-translated but initial version of the game, with no Ver. 1.03?
If so, how should one proceed about remedying the problem?
Where can I get the Ver. 1.03 patch?
What should I apply them on, the version I downloaded?

I have the same. I think you did good. The "version 1.00.0000" is just for the translation.

This happens (with multiple Eushully games, actually) because you're basically downloading a portable copy of the game. During installation, particular for patches, the installer (presumably using the registry) sets a version flag for the game and that's what shows up on the title screen.

Portable copies of Eushully games usually work okay regardless of the displayed version number, but sometimes there can be problems, in which manually installing the game may help. Note that prepatched portable versions are also very likely to be out of date since they won't include later translation patch fixes, so downloading that is highly recommended.

I added (overwrite) the latest translation named Project Amayui - Complete Edition for the Castle ver (was written in the readme)
Manually to the pre-patched portable versions and the appends seem to be there so it should be right, right?
Or should the ver flag be 1.03 instead I mean many people are telling me that the ver-flag would remain Version 1.00.0000??

In this case, version flag would still be 1.0. That said, make sure you're using the right patch for the right game, since this is the Labyrinth Meister thread.

For some reason, I'm crashing upon clicking Settings and when clicking starting a new game it crashes in ~10 seconds.
I had the same issue and I think it got something to do with Win 11 since prior installation of both Amayui worked and I do not remember installing the following. Japanese Locale and Locale Emulator do not suffice, one needs to install the Japanese language pack through Windows Settings. The OP notes this but does describe a different issue / point where the game crashes.

Why the English Patch requires this but not the JP original, I don't know but it is what it is.

I have the same exact issue.
If I try to click on Setting, it instantly crashes, while if I try to start the game is crashes a few seconds into the 'intro', probably when text should appear.
From what I see, I have the JP language pack installed (only that, no handwriting or others): what did you do to make it work? I'm pretty much stuck

I simply installed the Japanese under Settings->Language and Region->Add Language Pack, this did include handwriting and others. Having the regional format did not suffice.

Is the early game NG Hard mode not very balanced in this game?

I am basically forced to tank everything with Avaro + Kuna to even survive and ended up overlvled where I am lvl 15+ in dungeons with recommended lvl 6 and they scale up to lvl 15 as well so my units lvl up even higher, while new units joined at lvl 6 (the recommended lvl)

I like the challenge, but they could've made the early game Hard mode a bit better, unless there are other recommended strategies (but not straight up grinding to lvl 50 or something).

I also didn't really like that the objective on maps the first time is kill all enemies, as that can end the map before you can even fully explore it, so I would either be forced to keep 1 enemy alive or do the map again.
In Kamidori and Castle Meister for example, you could just leave at any point in most free exploration maps, so you don't have to worry about killing the last enemy, you can do that in this game too, but only on repeated runs of the same map.

Maybe Normal mode is a better experience? Hard mode takes quite a while to clear maps when enemies already have 100+ hp in the first few dungeons and you can't steamroll as easily, so I don't want to repeat maps that much.

The main thing that got me through hard mode was just remembering that you can get magic resistance/soul shield from your pair-up partner and there's a set of gloves (Mare gloves I think) that can give anyone magic resistance so I just made sure to resist both damage types at all times.
It felt like I was breaking the game until bosses started doing so much damage this strategy became basically mandatory.

I only played hard so I'm not sure how much easier normal makes it but I do remember that enemies scaling to unreasonable hp levels whenever you're stronger than intended is a recurring trend among Eushully games. Most of your stats come from equipment so overleveling often hurts you more than it helps

I have those things, magic attacks are very easy to shrug of because of that, but physical attacks ORKO basically everyone but Avaro + Kuna union in the early game.

I can't really stop them from being overlvled, but one advantage of being higher lvl is getting more skills and movement. And at least enemies have a cap how much they scale, but it takes a long time to outgrow enemies when you start lvl 5 and have to go to lvl 15+ to finally outstat enemies.
