I kinda hate to say this, but...

It takes way too many clicks to do anything here. All those lovingly crafted descriptions just... really get in the way. Everything is two or more clicks, and you can't even see the location of the second button until after the first click.

Add in all the highly detailed rooms... and navigation is just torturous.

The quest guide is nice - though it'd be nicer if it didn't occasionally drop down to a default 'none' - but honestly it's just not enough. There's just so much *everything* *everywhere* and it's just so. many. clicks.

I think the navigation descriptions really ought to go. Maybe they can be repurposed and made available some other way by somebody more creative than me, but even if they can't... it's a shame, and I hate to say it... but honestly in it's current state I think this will perpetually be on the "eh, not today" list.

Does anyone know how to start "A Beautifal Motive"? I've gone through all of Lindsey's other quests, and even made a new save just focusing soley on her, but I can't work out how to start it.

The one thing I hate about this game is that after each update you cant just start a new quest without losing all your progress. I just finished Jo's Day, I know that leash quest is available but my save never activates the new one. So I gotta use chapter select do the new one without the progress then redo old quests again.

Is Ley of the Land quest still bugged? I couldn't progress through Maxine's quest after choosing her instead of Lindsey. I'm also getting repeatable scenes with Lindsey on the ground floor when I start the quest.

Is there a fix I could do or should I re-do the game from the start?

Oh, thanks for pointing that out. It does help, but mostly just takes the edge off.

You still have to click on a character and then one of the pop-up interaction options, for example. And yes, even in other games you have to select options too, but there's a couple differences. For one, often the interaction *starts* on the click. Even if their image popping up is kind of just a veneer, it's a nice and useful one. More notably, using the common renpy choice system means the options are in standardized positions. And dropping a little in can get you hotkeys for em.

And then there's the fundamental issue of Just So. Many. Rooms. They're all amazingly detailed and had a lot of thought, care, and work poured into them... but that just makes it all the more of a shame when you start getting so annoyed by them you're just begging them to go away.

Is there any way to deal with the Nurse bug in Jo's day without needing to replay half of the game afterwards by doing Chapter Select?

In the spirit of the Programmers' Third Virtue, I figured I could do better than that. As it turns out, technically I can, but it really wasn't worth the trouble: as of v1.14, your patch suffices for everything except two lines in the script, perhaps neither of which most players will ever see.

The attached patch fixes those two places anyway, and (if we are a certain kind of fortunate) may also fix others which have yet to be written.

(Place this file directly in the game/ folder to apply it.)
