i don't know what to think...this dev earns less then 1k$ a month, it's not THAT HUGE amount of money which lets you live like tony stark.
it's quite strange because if it was a matter of money, it would be wiser to think "i release version 0.1, double up my patrons and THEN slack off with a good quantity of $"

But it could be better, say "summertime saga" (70k/month) or "being a DIK" (~50k/month). Those guys are raking in close to a quarter of a fucking million dollars for each update (updates every 4-5 months) which is fucking insane if you think what they are doing, but you're here drilling into some guy for taking a measly 1k.

This game hasn't even been out yet and look how much commotion it caused, and the guy clearly has what it takes to make a decent game so to think that hes abandoned it all and settled for a 1k is just plain fucking stupid.

You cant think you close to 0.1 in febuary 2020 and in january 2021 you got nothing.
If in the beginning he said it will be out late 2020 that would be honest and professionalism but he did not

and now when he make a post about his game he dont have teaser and sneekpeak about his game normally he always have a bathroom imagine , something to show he do something. Now its nothing....

You make a good point, but DarkCookie isn't making near as much as you think. Between Patreon's cut, taxes, chargebacks, and extra employees, developers make nowhere near that amount of money. Not sure about DrPinkCake.

For everyone complaining about the first release schedule, Psychodelusional is one person trying to make a game way more ambitious than anything we've seen. He might be learning how to use new software, have a cheap rig that takes forever to render, suffered after a death in the family, or just severely underestimated the difficulties behind a project like this. Who knows? It could be any combination of reasons. But to say someone is milking their patrons is a bit overdramatic, if you ask me.

Instead of arguing about when it's going to be released, just search for other porn games and check back in a couple of months. Obsessing and arguing over this game gets none of you anywhere.

Shit happens, doesn't matter if he's making any money or not, you would probably give him less shit (if any even) if he wasn't on Patreon right? If he was just developing the game in his free time without patreon, that would totally kill the argument that he's stalling/lying to make some free cash.
But forget about the money aspect for a second.

You've been on this site long enough to notice how things work, especially when it comes to new devs. By the time you finish your 5th render, the first one you made is already outdated. So you can go back and remake it implementing everything you learned up to this point or just let it slide and end up with inferior product.
This applies to everything, especially in this case where he's trying to make something that hasn't been done before (more than just a slideshow we usually get)
The more complicated and innovative it is, the more prone it is to fuck up.

We don't know for sure what's going on behind the scenes, we can only speculate at this point. Either he's a fraud or just experiencing some troubles. I'm leaning more towards the latter since that would signify that not all is lost and we might eventually get what we we're waiting for. And seeing how you're bearing not one but two sigs on your profile, wouldn't you want that too?

It's been over a year with missed deadlines, if you miss once or twice, it's understandable, but when he says "It'll be out in January" "It'll be out in June" "It'll be out in July" "It'll be out in November" "It'll be out one week from now" etc etc. Then you have no credibility anymore.

Yeah but that's not really milking then. You can't milk if you have nothing.
Losing your credibility means you can't really milk anymore.

You can release an update every week for 5 years straight and that would be considered milking.
Like take NLT media for example, i know that everyone loves him because he never missed an update and all but he's actually milking the shit out of his games. He could release a whole chunk of his game like every 3-4 months, but he's chopping them into small bits and releasing them twice a month making sure you're subscribed at all times.

The trick is to make your supporters believe you're not milking them, which you can't really say about Psychodelusional.
I don't know what's going on with him but if that's his intent then he's clearly terrible at it.

Milking your supporters is not the same thing as having poor communication/time management skills. You're making the assumption that he's inherently a bad person because he's failed at meeting his own estimated deadlines. As I mentioned, we have no clue what's going on behind the scenes.

Besides, it's not like your anger is going to make the game release any sooner. Remember the thread for Dual Family? Years of angry or sarcastic comments later and... still no game updates. It's better for us to just move on for now; there are plenty of great projects still receiving updates.

even if he have trouble, put out a lil demo of what you have and we can see if true or not. If it was free without patreon and fail his release and always push, its life but its his problem but when you begin to TAKE money(the amount is irrelivent)even if its 5$ a month you need some professionalism and honesty

If you are one year behind your original deadline, keep missing new deadlines and still take the money from your patrons every month, your credibility is very low. If he had suspended the billing on his Patreon for several months (like serious developers who care about their fans would have done), then it would be more credible and the guy wouldn't look like an ass for taking people's money, but for now it just looks like a scam. Gumdrop Games' little brother. And another interesting display of human psychology -- how people find ways to rationalize their continued belief in something when faced with mounting evidence their belief is wrong.

I don't have any problem with him continuing his Patreon. I've said this before, but no one is forcing people to pledge. The only issue I have is with reneging on promises. He would be absolutely fine if he didn't provide faulty release dates. The debate about whether you consider him to be milking or not is just semantics. That's not my concern. I hope he continues working on the game and eventually releases a version that we all can enjoy. And I hope he never puts out another predicted release date. That's clearly not his strong suit.

I don't know, guys. When someone keeps promissing, not delivering and promissing again, it's not a very nice thing to do, to put it very mildly. It is misleading people. And since he is not transparent at all, and always gives false promisses, it's very reasonable for a lot of people to think he is lying.

I believe there are development issues, but it should be communicated, not hidden. People are much more understanding if you explain your plight to them, especially when it comes to products with sexual content, and might even offer more help. Or he might be just taking money while doing bare minimum to keep people interrested and paying, for all we know. Sex sells. There have been a lot written and said about services like OnlyFans and people who blindly throw money at e-girls and this seems to be a similar situation.

P.S. About dev communication: Oceanlab is reworking his games and has some problems with the development, but there is a lot of possitive feedback because he is transparent about it, walks you through the process and is very reasonable to feedback. And actually delivers. If you go to threads for his games, people are very understanding there. Yes, there are some ignorant ones, but very few.

I didn't twist anything. Maybe you ought to be more careful writing and reading your own words. You wrote "becoming a reality transforming into probably the best game on this site". Using the word "probably" means you assign a high degree of probability that it will be the best game on the site if it comes out. Not just a wish. And this you are basing on just a few promotional renders.
