Given the quality of them and the fact we haven't seen them in any other game, I'd say they are assets created by the devs.

That seems like a corrupt file issue, or windows defender/AV deleting some file when extracting. Or placing new files on top of old.
Try downloading the game again and extracting to a new folder and keep an eye on windows defender/AV while doing so.
