how does personality works? do you get extra scenes being bad? it affects the ending? or the quests and relationships with the girls?
Personality dictates who you interact with in the bathroom (angel/devil). And that's mostly it. You get some options which are locked if you don't have high/low enough personality, but most of the differences is in the bathroom scenes.

that alien book is killing me
As xapican said, it should trigger automatically when going to the bookshop. I don't think there's a time requirement, but just in case you should go at 15:00.
If you already have the book, you need to go to your bedroom and read it (open the inventory, select the book and choose to read).

If that doesn't progress your quest, let me know exactly what it says on the quest step. And, if you enabled the console, the value of anna.StoryLvl. And I'll give you instructions on what you need to do next.

You're not the first person to complain about this issue (the book disappearing). I have never been able to duplicate that. Every time I start fresh this quest triggers properly for me.
Maybe the dev can look into it.

Anyway, glad to see you got through it. Let us know if you get any more similar issues.

Did you use one of the posted saves ? that was an issue in a foregoing build, before the Alien expansion,or as it was published, I never run into that issue even if I play the new builds from scratch

Probably, the grind is not so bad, in fact it is laughable little, I never used cheat mod due to that reason.

The mod doesn't change anything in the saves or the game itself. All it does is change the bars to sliders so you can change the values. I even avoided adding computing to it because it might screw up your game if you did.
So the mod does nothing in regards to that. It's very agnostic.

I checked my save (at endgame) and the alien book is gone, whereas the other 3 books aren't, even though they're fully read. This means the game is removing the alien book at some point and it's possible that this is what is happening. It's removing the item even though you haven't fully read it yet or it doesn't update the quest variables.

Only way to know would be to have a save game from before triggering the quest and after and trying to figure out what's causing this.

maybe it has something to do with the rework of the alien story. Looks like this problem started after that, some people had the same thing happen to them in the thread a few pages back?

It's possible. Glancing at the code I don't see a reason for it happening, but I haven't delved too deep into it nor do I feel like doing so without having a save file that I can replicate the issue with.

With a clean start I've never had this happen to me, and I've been doing clean starts for the last 2-3 patches, excluding the last one. Although I don't think I've ever left the alien/vamp quests for last either. Might try that someday to see if I can trigger this.

It could be the old mod before you did yours, Samu

Oh right. I don't know about that one, I don't think I've ever used it.

But he said he didn't use any saves so I assume it was a recent thing so it's likely my mod. Especially because the old one doesn't have a link anymore and even if you did find it, I doubt you could actually advance much in the game without getting loads of errors.
