So sad to see high quality games like this to be nearly abandoned. It's tough for adult games market as most of the games are made as a hobby. Thus we end up waiting years for little content unless the dev gets lucky with patrons or steam sales while also having dedication in their work.

You can blame F95 and piracy for that.
What devs need to do is release games (finish) or in parts like a season and post them on steam. This site is helpful with getting an already finsished product more attention, but a patreon especially for an uncertain creator who can just poof and be gone it can be too tough to gain much traction.

You really really can't tho, because sites like F95 give these games a lot of exposure and there are plenty of patrons on here. Also, the implied false equivalency of "every (or even most) pirates would pay for the content if they didn't get it for free" has never been true, whether it is video games, porn, music or any other form of paid content.

Let's see - starts out as an interesting incest corruption story with great models and some mystery baked in -> people are hooked.
Then:
- devolves into mindbreak psycho-commentary BS ruining the fun really fast
- glacial pace of development
- no communication
- shit engine
- pitiful number of jpegs per release (becomes obvious if you look at the cg pack)
- no animations

Yeah, it's def F95s fault

Lets face it, most of these games are paid through patreon, not through paid copies. How do people become patreons? They play the game for free on a pirate site and decide that they want to make sure more of this gets made, so they support the dev on patreon.

You think people just randomly surf patreon for porn creators and go off what extremely little informaion there is?

No sites like f95zone = no western porn game market.

Yup I play and then subscribe to patreon if I like the game. Games (not just porn games) follow this trope of early access/follow the development setup. I have never paid for a game before it's fully released, so why would I do the same for a porn game. I wouldn't. I read reviews in an unfiltered/bias way and then base my judgement on that.

F95 is perfect for that. With out F95 patreon creators wouldn't have half as much subs. It's the creators fault. Mainly because a staggeringly high percentage release content at a terribly slow pace/milk money or just push out utter shit. Milfy City and Summertime Saga taking the top spot for me in milking money. I stopped subscribing to them years ago. I as a general rule of thumb unsubscribed after 2 months if no content has been pushed out, Areas of Gray is no exception to this. I'll probably get some stick for this but I am subbed to NLT (Genesis Order) and have always been because they put out regular content at a good quality. Writing has become a bit samey in the sex scenes but overall it's a good story so I'll sub. Because at the end of the day we want good fap in most cases.

I completely agree. If it wasn't for F95Zone, I would never have played so many interesting games. I supported many developers with my donation because I found their games here.
