Lol i already been a year since i left this thread unwatch and they still keep making excuse before finally releasing it ?
looks like getting $14K/ month for a year not enough lol
when i first became a patron for them in early 2017 they were almost at 20k. i think at one point they lost around 9k and were stuck 11k for longest time. now it seems they peak at 13-14k. either way they make WAY more than most devs and manage to make some of buggiest games out there. like act 3 in roundscape is almost unplayable at this point....

Anyone knows a way to save the game at our own preference. Like after completing a dialogue etc

That's probably the main reason I won't play this game. There's no manual save as far I know, only autosaves, and they are the worst in timing. I hope they change this in the final game because seriously, Sometimes you just choose the wrong dialogue by mistake. And or you'll accept it or go back a lot just for that. Not to mention, no manual saving, no easier or fast ways to check different choices, etc.

Yeah I also dropped the game because of the save thingy. You see there is no point in playing a game if you cannot play it on your own pace. Sometimes i play for hours and sometime i play for a few mins. But without save options, my progress gets lost and its very annoying. Hope devs can add save option in future versions.

Some news:

And most importantly:

We're working hard for a release in late october but as said before, we won't announce the exact day until we're 100% confident in the new date.
Can't wait to play this in 2026 (2023)

I'm not following this dev enough to fully understand how they work.

However I can see that they are also working on roundscape : Adoravia which is updated quite often.

I guess Arenus is just a sideproject then ? and that's why he is not frequently updated ?

They focus on the project that generates the majority of the monthly income. So if Arenus isn't fully finished when it gets released and people are not interested enough to see more it will be a short lived adventure for Arenus.

Ofc the devs will just say there wasn't enough interest to go on. They wont talk about how it came to that by missing deadlines again and again and cutting corners.

As I said before: Years ago, the developers declared Arenus their main project (that's also why they changed the name of their patron) and said that Roundscape: Adorevia would be put on the back burner.

I am sure you can already see the problem here.

Arenus will actually be a finished product on finish, imagine the state roundscape is today, but as soon as it comes out, it won't be an early access type game like roundscape, if there is content updates/FLC later, it'll be because the community wants them or as thank you

My concern with Arenus even though its going to drop as a full release is going to be the quality itself. With Kaliyo's questionable design choices....
  1. Auto-saves only (I don't think anyone want's to play a potential 80+ hours game with just auto-saves specially one with multiple character choices/paths)
  2. Gallery possibly being only a CG rip with no scene dialogue(CG gallery bit only happened in Below Sunshade so here's hoping no repeats of that)
  3. Last but not least Arvus' dismal bug fixing track record (looking at you again Sunshade, Adoravia has been....standard for what I expect from a patreon indi dev)

I'm fully expecting bugs when Arenus drops (who doesn't). I'm concerned for the game getting pumped and dumped and they shift all production back to Adoravia and we all get cyberpunked  I just want a good game on release to go with Arvus' solid artwork.

What I miss is a game like Adoravia that has incredible gameplay. Nice characters, and it is interesting. I loved spending time making new builds, trying new stuff, choices, etc. And honestly, for the demo I played, Arenus is far from it. If it wasn't for the number of bugs, and sadly the choice of most scenes with Female Protag. That game would be easily one of my all time fav adult RPG.

Agreed. Adoravia is fairly solid all around. My only complaint being the multi-artists art. I have nothing against the artwork or dialogue of Arenus but the three gladiators and the trainer (you, which if it stays the same as the demo you can choose male or female) feels very vanilla. I'm surprised one of the gladiators isn't a futa considering how much they popped up in Adoravia and the one we had in Sunshade. I mean come on futa snu snu gladiator :ROFLMAO:

Yeah going forward Kaliyo said they'll restrain to 2 or 3 artists top, to avoid different arts.

The auto-saves concern is understandable, there are other games that do it (to give you a sense of "every choice matter"), as long as you don't go to bed the game doesn't save so you can restart the day to explore other choices, but it also doesn't help with long term consequences. I guess it is why the team is adding meters to gauge your reputation and so on. Said design isn't for everyone, personally, I like it because it makes me want to truly think through my choices!

But it seem to be the intended design to have you explore a path fully and then you restart with another gladiator, siding with another faction etc (3 faction, 3 gladiator, hmmmmm)

For the gallery, it's a wait and see....

And yeah, bugs are awful, add to it the fact that games react differently on everyone's machine, it is hard to find all bugs during play testing, but here Kal is going full steam on debugging, he won't release arenus until, to quote, "we can do multiple full playthrough runs without encountering a single game breaking or game altering bug"
