So Ariana would have to know their meaning, if they represent the smaller circles. She also would have to memorize the incantation. Besides if you noticed they used various props for their rituals.

I have an idea for the casting of the fertility spell. I think it would work better in this game than MLS.
Ariana finishes her incantation. A rift opens in the ground and an ominous light fills the room. Tentacles burst forth from the hole. Cut.
Next day.
