Good story but needs another option in the meeting with frank, after she tells him off if you choose that route, she should kick him square in the nuts as a parting gift ....and tell him she banged his brother ........Other than that she said perfectly what was needed to be said so keep the dialogue but maybe a parting hug with " Oh one more thing (bam Knee to the nuts ) and she whisperes in his ear, " i fucked your brother and he was better than you will ever be .. peanut prick"

Came here to find out how to avoid Jacob only to learn it's not possible which is a damn shame. Unavoidable sex scenes in VNs are a pet peeve of mine, I find it a bit strange we get the option of what she wears but not who she loses her virginity to.
The scene makes her seem really weak willed and easily manipulated which makes me worry about whats to come, particularly with the teacher seeing her which is probably gonna end up in a blackmail situation.

Don't want to see her turn into a cumdumpster who open her legs every time someone waves a cock in her direction which is what ends up happening in 90% of female protag games and unfortunately seems to be where this is going regardless of the choices the player makes.

But Jacob is needed in the story (if you read the game summary, the plot is partially based on my experiencies, but obviously, there are and will be scenes that are completely fiction).

What I'm trying to do is arrange options for all tastes.

Just a guess, but relying on what I have read scanning the thread, this game is loosely or otherwise based on the dev's rl experiences. That might be why not every encounter is avoidable.

Since it's labeled as a VN (Visual Novel) it is more linear (kinetic) than a typical choice-laden "game".
It started out as a sort of "developer's memoirs", but people complained a lot, so some fictional elements have been added. Up to this point though, there is no real alternate "path" that deviates from the story being told. It only provides opportunities to avoid certain types of content the story naturally contains.

A lot of young players demand the option of "guiding the story themselves", and will never be content with traditional storytelling. This was (I believe) always intended as a work of traditional storytelling. It's going quite well, in my opinion. I find it fascinating, so far.

Well Jacob seems to be a much better man than his brother will ever be , and i can see why Arizona would cling to him after the way Frank treated her ,I can only hope Jacob is not another heart breaker that he was only comforting her to get in her pants ....time will tell but so far it is well written and immersive ...i look forward to seeing where it goes from here

Jacob made it very clear he wasn't interested in a romantic relationship with her and that it would be more physical fun than anything else, Ari knew what she was in for with him, iirc.

He also said she deserves better than the way Frank treated her and he wouldn't do that.

The more I think about it the less sense the Jacob scene makes, at least in the 'clean route'.

If you reject him the night before, tell him you don't want to meet, and dress casually because she has no interest in impressing him why would she just randomly fuck him like that?, she even mentions at one point that she doesn't find him attractive. If it's for revenge against Frank then that's a terrible reason for fucking someone (especially her first time) and makes Ari seem childish and petty. If the scene is absolutely needed then it'd be nice if she could at least regret it afterwards and tell him it was a mistake.

If she's desperate to lose her virginity than I'm sure she would have had plenty of opportunities for that with her sex obsessed boyfriend.

As for Jacob being a better guy than Frank then... yeah, sure he is, that's not much of a competition, but he's still an asshole. After the party she's drunk and crying after having a fight with her boyfriend and Jacobs first instinct is to do the r/niceguy routine ("he's such an asshole, I'd never treat you like that") and hit on a drunk and emotionally fragile girl who also happens to be his brothers girlfriend.

There's a couple of other area's where the players choices are basically ignored. When the creepy middle aged neighbour pervs on her sunbathing, if you choose to go back inside she later regrets not teasing him and agrees to clean his house so she'll get another opportunity. If you tell off the boss at the clothes store for being a creep she should continue to do so instead of just accepting it the next time he won't shut up about her 'sexy body'. It would also be nice to be able to tell the incredibly manipulative cousin to back of a bit as well.

I understand this is a porn game, and as such needs sex and sexy situations, but a game having options and not respecting what the player chooses and which story threads to pursue just leads to frustration and would probably be better off with no choices at all (would be much easier to make as well).

Despite all that I do really like this game, and has even inspired me to maybe attempt my own at some point, and I'm looking forward to seeing where this goes. I'm going to shut up now.

You forgot one very important aspect of all this, the story is based on true events. From what Sylvie has said, that's how it really went down, hence it's something that can't be avoided. There will some none cannon events, and some not. Like telling Macdoucheface to fuck off, never happened, the scene on the beach did.

"Arizona: The Game" is a visual novel based, in part on the real life experiences of its creator, and her aquaintances. It's a coming-of-age story for a girl who's significantly behind the development of her peers. "Ari" is a high school senior who's led a very sheltered life, and is therefore quite naïve in regard to the 'real world'.

From how insistent Sylvie is about needing the scene I can only assume that she was sexually frustrated from the day, I blame Sam, And desire took the wheel and she got it on with Jacob because she was horny. You don't make the smartest or most logical choices when your in heat. Dude, when your horny and young you have no control. No?
