It's also worth pointing out that sometimes there isn't an objectively better choice.
In particular, there are two in this pizza restaurant scene; leaving the tip annoys Kindra since she just complained about the waitress, but it's one of two ways to get a scene much later in the game at the Halloween party (the other way requires you to go out with Katy instead of Zelda), so you may indeed want to leave the tip. It's apparently just a one-time thing, though, so numbers wise if you want the Kindra rp, maybe don't.
You also have a chance to pay for the whole meal, which seems like the obviously generous thing to do, but be aware that has a reasonably big (IMO) shift much later in the game for dealing with a specific side character, and besides some lost RP means a pretty cringy/awkward bit. This comes down to the money cheat from the mod -- if you play base game, you can't afford to pay for the whole meal if you're also doing stuff like tipping June, so it's obvious that it would be a bad financial decision. With the extra cash the mod gives you to le you chooe whatever combo you want, it's easy to pay for all of them and then realize chapters later that you've made an "important choice."
Again, just my opinion, but if the mod facilitates that or there are either/or reasons, I'd really like to see some sort of note appended to those decisions, e.g. "This choice changes a scene in a later chapter," "this choice may lock out a side girl scene."
