So, basically, what youve said here is:
"I want MM dead" and "I want MM dead even more".
You cant kill MM. You dont even want to kill MM, since thats the only thing that makes things move in this game (due to extra retarded AI).
Try using my
flytrap. It will somewhat slow down MMs spread, but will not permanently stop it.
Im guessing MM is hardcoded into the game, and you cant really do much to alleviate this. That one guy ive had an argument over this mentioned something about reducing LLDH multipliers for NPC v NPC relations. That might slow things down a bit... but thats cheating. This is a sandbox game, though, so go nuts - it might just solve your problem.
Interesting. You're right, I do want MM dead. The flytrap is an interesting solve, though not the one I'm looking for.
In regards to 'reducing NPC relations': As you said, there is a setting for NPC v NPC ratios, but it doesn't seem to let me reduce it below 1, and now that I'm aware of MM, the points gained by interactions aren't really an issue in comparison to the fact that the game will suddenly max out LLDH points for NPCs, seemingly at random. For example, I have two characters who interacted ONCE, but checking their points shows that they now have 2/3rds (660) love and 1/3rd (330) like. So, the interactions move maybe 5-30 points around, but MM can redistribute their entire LLDH value instantly. Before, I thought that NPCs just gained inflated point values from interactions, but I wasn't aware that MM impacted things so severely.
In regards to MM being the only thing that makes things move, that's simply not true. If we actually increased the ratio of LLDH points gained by interactions between NPCs, you could make things move just as fast, or as fast as you like, but more organically, without MM's method of dumping a bunch of points on a character all at once. So, killing MM would make the game better in every way, as far as I'm concerned. Admittedly, I'm only just now becoming aware of how MM works, so maybe there are some nuances I'm missing.
For instance, how often does MM distribute points? Is it only trying to maximize NPCs LLDH points initially, or is it going to keep suddenly redistributing points, later on, after they're already assigned? (If MM only distributes points initially, then I can make sure that characters either maximize Like or Dislike, at first, since then Love or Hate could be gained solely from later interactions.... hmmm.... )
If either of you have any new ideas for how to have the entire class gain relationships more slowly, let me know. Or, more details on how MM actually operates, so that I can prevent people from instantly falling in love.
