I'd heavily suggest backing up that file and even replicating it on google docs ;)
Oof, yeah. Been a lot of devs recently who have had PC part failures and lost game files. Some were able to recover the data and others not so much. If you could swing it and are in this for the long haul an external HDD/SSD would be a good idea haha.

Chill, I already changed 2-3 hdd/sdd for this year. And of course already saved all, what I needed xD

This was a better version that the previous one, congrats dev. From now on you can put everything in the codex and explain some of the lore and backstory of the characters and so on, no need for more remakes.

Let's just say this will all be described later. Either in the codex or in the game itself.
well if it turns out she isnt actually some kind of sex worker as it currently seems hope there will be a way to opt in to her route at that point because will be avoiding her until then probably my favorite looking character in the game but any kind of sex work is an absolute dealbreaker for me

Dev log

Good day, my dear friends.
I hope everything’s going great for you, as always. I have quite a bit to share in this month’s devlog, so let’s get straight to the point.

Initially, I planned to take a break from work and just relax — but it turns out that’s not something I’m really capable of. So, I’ve returned to working on version 0.3.

But more on that later. First, I want to say a few words about the recent rework I did.

I spent a lot of time thinking it over — like I always do — and came to a few conclusions. This will be the last rework. Period.
As I’ve been creating this story, I’ve learned a lot by making mistakes. And now, I feel like I’ve finally arrived at the place where this story should’ve started in the first place. The foundation it has now — I like it. And I won’t be changing it anymore.

The same goes for future chapters: I’ve gained enough experience to avoid repeating the same mistakes.

And if you still find it confusing, boring, or meaningless — I’m sorry, but this game isn’t made for everyone. I’ve come to terms with that.
Instead of trying to please everyone, I’ll focus on a specific audience.

As for the scene with Anya — it wasn’t part of the original plan. But I needed at least one of those “As I thought at the time” kind of scenes. So I forced it in and decided to just let it play out as it did.
Who would've thought that moment would become one of the most memorable parts of the game.

Now, about the pacing and why I’ve been releasing things so fast — it’s simply because I’m the kind of person who learns from their mistakes. Or at least tries to.

To be fair:In 0.1, I was focused on render quality. In 0.1.5, the focus was on the story. In 0.2, I shifted my attention to dialogues. And in 0.2.5, I tried to bring all of those elements up to a decent level.Moving forward, I’m taking the script and Q&A structure much more seriously. (Right now I’ve got a 50-page Word file tracking character motivations, what the player knows, and what questions still need to be answered.)

I’m not trying to justify myself. I really did start from zero — no experience, no talent — just persistence and one simple thought:
“I want to share this story with the world.”
That’s it.

Alright, that wraps up that topic. Now let’s move on to 0.3.

Where to begin? Ah, right — this time, we’ll have one key image that stays with you throughout the chapter, focusing on the character who’s at the heart of it.

As for the chapter itself: I’m currently working on the narrative part, trying to figure out which questions need to be answered. I’m writing dialogues and building the overall scene structure.

On top of that, I’m planning to revamp the main menu once again, in line with the recent events. (The video is already done, and so far, people really seem to like it.)

Progress Stats (Because why not?):Development Plan – 100%Renders – 0% (I deleted the ones I had already made.)Words – 5% (Around 1k written — I rewrote all the events from scratch.)Music – 0% (Haven’t started yet.)Code – 5% (320 lines and counting.)It’s been a bit tricky juggling everything — study, work, and development — but I’ll do everything I can to avoid keeping you waiting. (I really hate doing that.)

Special thanks go to the people who support me financially. You’re the real heroes here! Without you, I probably would’ve quit this project way back at the start.

And to everyone who still believes in me, who sticks around despite all the mistakes I’ve made — thank you.
All of this combined gives me the strength to keep moving forward.

Honestly, I might have the best audience out of all devs out there.
(Note to self: I need to come up with a name for you guys.)

And on that positive note, I’m heading back into brainstorming mode, continuing to shape the story.

Not saying goodbye — just see you soon.
Stay safe and take care.

Yours, your friendly neighborhood dev,
NoGlory

Just completed the game, the remake was great. The story makes more sense now, the dialogue flows better, information is delivered more coherently. Really enjoyed the playthrough, the animations, setting of scenes, character design, set designs, music, the plot, all good. Its clear a lot of work went into this game. The game is in a great place now, and I look forward to seeing how it develops. Congrats on improving the game and good luck with your further development dev.

NoGloryx Had 1 question, who is the woman in the game menu screen, the one with two swords, long hair and the purplish hue? Is that supposed to be miriel? or a new character to be introduced in the future?

cheers!

This is the woman we met at the end of 0.2, or rather the version of her before X moment. Details in 0.3 :D

Okay, that 0.2.5 rewrite is completely justified, I already loved the original prologue but these edits just make the story flow better. Good read as always.

Wait, it was worse than this before?

I tried not to but eventually I gave up and fast-forwarded through so much pointless cringe dialogue.
So many times I'm just thinking "shut the fuck up and get on with something, anything..." while they stand around having some passive-aggressive conversation that is totally pointless.
I'd say about 60-70% of the dialogue is a tedious slog.

If you want a specific example, just replay the entire interaction when they are in the laundromat.
But that is just one example, there are many, many, more just like it.

It's almost always the former, not matter how much we wish it were the latter.

Please.

this game had one good lewd scene so far and... it's gone!
at this rate I'll check this game in... 2028, maybe then there'll be something to... admire
I was disappointed with the removal of this scene myself, and to all those people who say that removing it was the right move because it doesn't fit with his character, sometimes even the most honorable people do things completely out of character, I liked the scene so I'll keep an old copy with that scene in. It irked me that our choice to save Anya or not was taken away. Still, not as much as that 'interation' with the glitch 'Lora' who "appears to talk with the MC", which honestly makes him seem like he's already got a dark side with his demons, this 'fake' Lora even points out that it's Anya in the alleyway, if he was so deep into his mind conversing with the ghost of a woman he loved, how in the hell did he ever notice a girl in an alleyway off to his far left?

No way, where's my face-fucking with Anya?

Where's my midget joke about Olivia?

The MC is definitely going crazy. I can already see the MC's swearing at Lora coming, for abandoning him without saying anything, this is going to get out of hand and I love the drama.

Psd: The 3 Elfs presented at the end are 10/10.

I hope they can be a great addition to the Harem path, now it definitely needs a redhead and orange-haired girl like LIs.

So, greetings and lucky NoGloryx

Just started the game, and till now I like it really much. never taken a look into the game before the rework, so I'm not biased.

I have just a little question, at some points in the game I got a notification about Memories Updated or something, but in the menu from the top left corner or in the right click menu I don't find any kind of codex or similar. Is this a thing that unlocks later in the game - atm I'm at the resting point where Oliva, MC and killer elf got left behind after grouping up with the inquisitor - or is this a remnant of the old coding? Or I'M just to stupid to find what I was searching - most likely...

This, it will appear later in the game, I also was a bit confused when those appeared, just keep playing and will appear somewhere during Act 2 between the 7th (this save doesn't have the icon) and 8th choice (this one have) of Act 2, if I didn't miss to save on a choice that is  and if it is still the same number of choices in the rework version. Same happened with prior version, still didn't played the rework. The weird thing is that it seems it gets persistent saved, when I load my saves that didn't had the codex button in the right top corner, it appears now the button.

Edit: (To avoid double posting) Started today the rework version and I have to say that at least for the prologue (what I played so far) it makes events much less confusing, really good job there NoGlory, also the dialogues were good and more natural but my little nitpick was mostly on Act 1 and 2 of the game on it, played a bit of Act 1 and seemed fine so far. I also approve the cutting of Anya lewd scene in the rework, seems more natural this way.

Or maybe I'm already used to the writing style of the dev and was less confused since already had played v0.2  , if keeps this quality for sure will up from my tier A games list to my Special tier of AVNs, I was hoping so, I don't usually follow game threads out my tier S list but made an exception for Astreon, have great hopes for this game, eter... I mean "everlasting" game level of hopes for it hahaha.

Also the song added (at least I didn't saw that song when unrenned the prior version, maybe was there and I just didn't remember on my first playthrough) that is called loramemory1.mp3 is great and with a very fitting lyrics, it stuck in my head hehehe. Even put it on my spotify playlist after searching the song.

Dev log #2

Greetings, my dear friends!

How was your month? I hope it went great.

Today, as always, I’m coming to you with some exciting news!

This past month, I ran into a few challenges. While working on the story, many of my initial plans clashed with limitations — mainly in how I could present the scale and scope I originally envisioned. So, I decided to dive into learning Unreal Engine, and now, all my location-based issues have vanished!

As I mentioned in my Discord server, upcoming scenes will take place underwater, above water, in space, in the desert, underground, and many more places. Honestly, I consider this a huge win! I've also learned how to import various assets like clothing, weapons, and other objects — finally putting my Blender skills to good use!

Now, about the upcoming update
I haven't made a final decision yet, but I’ve already written two possible endings for the current update. Whichever one I choose will send the story in a completely different direction. On one hand, that sounds exciting. On the other... knowing myself, I won’t stop at just two paths.

But more on that later. For now, I’ve decided to split Act 3 into two parts, because doing the entire act at once would take more than 3 months — and I did promise updates every 3 months, didn't I?
Here’s the current development status:

Progress Stats:
  • Development Plan – 100%
  • Renders – 25% (600/2400)
  • Words – 75% (~20,000 words written, for just one path)
  • Music – 0% (Yet to begin)
  • Code – 40% (3,200 lines and counting)
  • Lewd Scenes – 25% (1 out of 4 completed, though I might end up adding 3 in total)
Moving on to Discord news:
We’ve finally crossed the 1,000-member milestone! I’m incredibly grateful to all of you for that. (Please don’t leave right as I post this =_=")

To celebrate, I’ll soon be posting a poll about a special render to mark the occasion, along with polls for a new Discord banner, monthly renders for paid patrons, and... well, lots of polls. Please forgive me in advance.
Lastly, I’ve decided to choose 6 – 8 key love interests around whom the story will develop, each requiring their own unique paths.

Let’s just say the plans are massive.
And with that, I’m heading back to work!

Thank you all for your attention and support,

Not saying goodbye — just see you soon.
Stay safe and take care.

Yours truly, your friendly neighborhood dev,
NoGlory
