Oh, and another annoyance I just remembered: when I first started playing I had no idea what was going on in the story because my team levelled up a few times before I figured out where cutscenes are. Since the cutscenes only play the most recent one, I missed all the intro cutscenes. Like if I levelled a character to level 3 before I played any cutscene, the level 1 and 2 scenes did not play ever. Game seems to assume you will always click on exclamation points. If so, why make the player click? Just automatically play them. Of course you probably don't want to force people to watch the cutscenes, so better yet, when clicking an exclamation point, always play the oldest unplayed scene to ensure none are skipped. Even better than that, when ! is clicked, show a selection of all unlocked scenes in order and let the player choose which to jump to. I hope that's clear, main point, don't let me miss cutscenes because I levelled too fast.

Is the MtF gonna involve still keeping the D?
She/He will lose the D at the very last clothing change/scene

Addictive... surprisingly addictive.

Really fun too. 10/10 for what it is. I started at the default difficulty and after just two tries of figuring it out I got the hang of the game and cleared it to the end with 0 deaths... it was awesome for the most part, and I can only "complain" at several things I think held the experience back.

I constantly felt like I was walking on eggshells, not wanting to switch an item for fear of dooming my run, since I was blind regarding the difficulty spike and I wasn´t 100% sure how the items/buffs would behave once in battle.

For example, the mix of item that makes a girls´ HP 1 and doubles her attack and the leader skill that makes the lowest stat reach the highest... would the ensuing math mean a girl with ludicrous damage but 1 HP, or that she became a minor god?

My idea? Have an additional battle button available at all times that allows you to "practice" with no exp earned or permanent buffs...
Maybe with a way to reset afterwards to the beggining of the "set-up" phase, but this might be too lenient in reality.

I think it could be an elegant solution as it involves the player still having to figure out his team on his own, and to potentially avoid a naive choice ruining 95% of a good run.

I´m no coder, let alone game designer. But beauties like this make me reconsider my life choices, haha.
I'm glad you liked it. Having some kind of practice room wouldn't be too hard to implement, but might be a little clunky and add clutter to the UI.

I know I sound I am repeating myself each time I post but still there persists a problem where the game locks up if you lose enough girls that there are not enough for 3 options in the recruit/purchase screen in between rounds. No game over, no options, just a lock up and crash.
I'm not ignoring you, I had that bug on my list and thought I fixed it. Guess my fix didn't work.

I don't see any way to save the game. When I restart the application all my progress is gone, main menu has no option to continue. Also my Settings choices are not retained. I am playing itch.io download, release 1-1, on Windows 11.

Request, can explicit Patreon content not appear on the splash screen? Futa is REALLY not my flavor and it's a big turnoff to see it when I start the game. I am grateful that other than this the game lets you choose which flavors to experience and which to leave alone.

Thank you, really like the game and the premise is impressively original (at least I've never heard of a story quite like this!)
The game auto-saves. There should be a load continue game option on the main menu. Maybe saves aren't working at all on your system for some reason?
And you can disable the patreon preview girls in the settings by setting "Girl Previews" to no.

Finally figured out what I don't like about the game. The autobattler stuff is great. However the porn stuff you are a step removed from the action. Your character is neither the one fucking or getting fucked. Also everything just happens, you don't have any agency or choice on how they will turn out. Feels more like VN in that aspect.
That's just the premise of the story. You are an observer with no stakes in what happens to the girls. But what happens to them is because of you and your influence. How you're causing all this corruption and chaos just by exisiting is a major part of the story. Like how in Lovecraft just having knowledge of the eldritch whatever is enough to drive you crazy.

The game runs fine on Linux, but you're going to need to install MS Core Fonts on the virtual drive you're using. This is a problem with the default font in Unity games in general. If it ever gets a native Linux release and you're not seeing any text, MS Core Fonts is usually the issue. Steam Play should also be able to handle it but I haven't tested it.

My impressions: very fun. I'm unfamiliar with auto-battlers, so this was a new experience, and I lost my first two runs, but it was pretty smooth sailing after that. I might be ready to advance to a higher difficulty. There are only a few things that bug me about the gameplay so far:
  1. Limited randomization. The enemies seem to be the same on every run, or there are incredibly limited combinations for each level. There needs to be more variety, and there needs to be some more mix-up on enemy quantity and enemy abilities. This doesn't seem too hard mechanically, but adding additional art might be problematic. This is the number one feature I'd like to see, outside of more girls/interactions.
  2. The UI is rad looking and adds to the vibe but functionally fails in a lot of ways. This has a few sub-points:
    1. The massive oversized frame around the screen could be toned down a little bit. It can be distracting.
    2. It makes the cool character art for the girls (and boy) smaller and hard to see. The fact that you seemingly can't revisit the various outfits in the gallery later is also a drawback. The assets are there, use them!
    3. The stats below the sprites are easy to deduce but as far as I know, never made explicit. Knowing what each box represents is down to memory. Please make some kind of health/attack icon. I'm not colorblind but this probably would help with red/green colorblindness too. Win-win.
    4. I should be able to click and drag an item from the shop to the person I want to equip it on and have it automatically bought. This is how that interface element feels like it should work, especially because there isn't an inventory so any item you buy will always be going directly to a character.
  3. If you're going for a specific build you should be able to pick leading character and ability before the new game starts. This is to avoid repeated resets for tryhards.
  4. There should be a screen that has an ability overview for all of the girls. This was hard for me to personally keep track of, and the problem will only balloon in scale if the game grows. I'd rank this over a proper scene gallery, in terms of importance to the polish of the game.
  5. The lack of an actual scene gallery is annoying but the game is short enough and has enough replay value that I'm not hurting too bad for it. My biggest issue is that the way new scenes are introduced is clunky, because they're hidden in a button in a pop-up submenu. I get that this improves the speed of things if you're skipping the scenes, but there really should be an option that plays all available scenes in order between the combat phase and strategic phase that I can enable if I don't want to have to remember to check on them manually.
I'd compare the way scenes are done to Spiral Clicker, but more sexually explicit. Short, minimalist, to the point, immersed in the particular quirk of that character, and designed to be repeatedly viewed. I appreciate this. You might not come back to it immediately, but I can see this being the type of game I regularly revisit and don't mind playing from the very beginning.

I'd like to stress that I love this product to death. It needs a bit of extra polish for things like gamefeel but otherwise is incredibly excellent. I haven't noticed any of the performance issues other people have mentioned and I'm running it on a mid-to-low-range rig on the wrong operating system, so I can't corroborate.

For a porn game: best of the best. For a 1.0+ release indie game in general, I don't know if it's there yet, but the fact that I'd even consider it on that scale should tell you something. It needs a bit of polish that I'm not sure will come to it. Eagerly looking forward to the next update, and if I stop being broke sometime soon Apollo is near the top of my list for patreon subscriptions. Give it a shot.
Wow, that's a lot of great feedback, thanks. I'm glad you liked it so much, I definitely worked hard on it. The UI elements are pretty hard to change because of how expensive it was and the nature of hand drawn art, but I'll continue tweaking it to make things more clear and easier to use.

The only thing here that I think looks broken is when the top eyeball covers up the little fetish tag over the head of the girls on the selection screen. Or the fact that those girls still react to mouse hover in the background even when you're in another character menu.

Hmm, thanks. Does it create a save file I can try to monitor? Where in the filesystem?

And you can disable the patreon preview girls in the settings by setting "Girl Previews" to no.
Thanks very much :)

EDIT: I just tested. I turned off Girl Previews and exited the game and restarted it. This setting was saved. Then I went into Settings again and set my preferred text speed, then exited the game. Upon restart my Girl Preview preference was still active but my text settings were NOT retained.

Will future updates focus on adding new girls or will the current girls also get more scenes?

Alright, more or less finished getting all the content in the game, at least unlocked everything in the image gallery anyway (except the Cynthia leader ending, I did get the scene at the end of my last run but it didn't unlock in the gallery, probably a bug). Pretty good game, love the presentation, fun characters, gameplay is engaging enough. Also liked the art design all around, both the cute and the creepy.

For the gameplay, I resonate with some of the UI complaints people voiced in this thread, and I also think being able to choose your starter leader girl would be a welcome feature. Also got some annoying bugs with the formation screen when you start fiddling with it too much, sometimes clicking x won't remove the girl from a queue, sometimes what is visually showing in the UI does not match the order the game logic is actually using, could use some polishing all around. As a suggestion, I don't know if this was already implemented in one of the 2 patreon-only girls of the current version, but could be interesting to have a girl that has a "last hit" mechanic where she gives strong permanent bonuses but only if she deals the finishing blow on an enemy.

Anyway, pretty good game I liked it a lot, not my favourite genre but I will be checking out future updates.

When I started playing I saw the variety of flavors offered and hoped to find a few for me. Love the art and the very original premise but this one flavor seems to permeate the whole game, which is fine for that to exist, but I'm naturally disappointed that the initial promise of variety doesn't seem to deliver. Still a good game, no offense intended, and no shaming folks who like that flavor but sadly I think I'm out.

Each girl should get one extra bonus scene like Cynthia did in 1.1, and girls will have relationship scenes with new girls. But the focus is more on making more girls than expanding existing ones.

Good feedback as always, manscout. A girl focusing on getting killing blows is actually on the list of mechanics to make, she was going to be girl 13, but I ended up going with another buff receiver because Cynthia and Madison are overly centralizing right now.

I'll talk about the story stuff in conjunction with Corruption Dawn's comment.

The amount of unhealthy relationships is something some playtesters didn't like too. A key element of the story is the downfall of the girls, how your presence ends up negatively effecting them. That's also why once you pick a girl, there's basically two possibilities that happen to them, they get destroyed with the rest of their reality, or they go fully crazy after the final boss and end up getting tentacle fucked for all eternity. A major motiff of the whole game is the PC's gaze. It's like how in particle physics things are on such a small scale, the mere act of using some mechanism to observe something causes what you're observing to be effected wince the proton you bounce off it to get info alters it's velocity and trajectory. Just the player being here and observing the girls warps and changes them. You have no negative intentions, but that doesn't matter.

Anyway, I did lighten it up for the more recent girls. Girl 12, Sarah, has basically no negative component, and Girl 13, the one I'm working on now, has a pretty happy story overall.

Yeah, considering the type of the story the game is going for, I don't have any problem with the eventual downfall of the girls.

The "abusive maledom" critique was more about how said downfall is crowned by too many of the girls running into the same type of guy trying to abuse them in the exact same "I was nice at first, but now that you put out I will treat you like my sex slave" way. I guess there is a mention by the PC in Sofia's route that the PC is also ocasionally gazing upon the people close to the girls so they could be responsible for them being corrupted into usually the same type of asshole, and it makes sense for the genre so for people that are into it I'm sure it feels perfect, just not my personal preference so I personally would have enjoyed more variety into how the corruption is "completed".

Oh yeah, one final question, what's the meaning of the "exclusive leader" endings in the story?

I thought they could have been something like "after the PC leaves, in this ending the leader girl gets to continue living in her reality as her damaged and fully corrupted self" but you said their ending is always either being destroyed with their reality or tentacle sex oblivion, so is it more of a "the last thing they did before the end" type of thing?

I get what you're saying, but it's more of a problem of the limited number of girls I think. Sophia and Emma's story is pretty similar and there's some that touch on similar themes, but the downfall of the girl is presented in different ways as well. Girls 11, 12, and 13, really don't have any of that in them. Maybe Girl 14 will, I don't know. But once there's 20+ girls, a few having similar themes won't be a big deal.

As for the bonus scenes, yeah I don't really know when those happen, lol. The routes needed some kind of falling action after the climaxes of the third scene, so there needs to be some kind of passage of time. Maybe they happen right before the end, maybe if you keep her as the leader the whole time she somehow survives.

Loved the game overall, the cosmic entity voyeurism framing device is one of my favorites in any adult game I've played (seriously, excellent work on it!), and I had a blast with the gameplay and some of the routes were also quite lovely, but the degrading/misogyny stuff was a turnoff when it came up (not complaining, I get that a lot of people want that itch scratched, but it's just not for me). Glad to hear that the new girls will be in a different vein than the abusive stuff!

I'm loving this, it's been a while since I've found a game here with such potential replayability in terms of the mechanics, and the neat additions like the changes of clothing within the run itself, and the artwork itself like the monsters. (The length of a campaign doesn't hurt either). My favorite bit though is the all the abusive bits, it helps to hammer home the idea that they have been corrupted beyond a healthy normal life.
I had a quick question though, I saw how you have the scene section setup, do you plan to have the bonus scenes added to it as well, or will that be limited to the images section. I really like how you have Cynthias bonus scene setup for example, but it's a pain to run through the whole campaign with her as the lead to enjoy it.

Aww man... hentai genderbender (dude just one day wakes up and has mysteriously turned into a girl, and deals with existential horror of their new body's female hormones making them want things their for-now-masculine mind doesn't want to want) >>>> western sissification (gradual process of forced transing of a guy who just didn't realize/couldn't admit to themselves they were actually trans all along and it's actually a huge favor to them), both in terms of sexiness and horror IMO

I'm into the process when it comes to tf, so something happening instantly just misses the point for me. Also I much prefer when mtf involves keeping the dick, so unfortunate it won't be the case here.

Very nice stuff. Very original and fun to play.
Gameplay is not quite fine tuned, some girls/abilities being just way better than others, but still good overall.
As others have said, the way we access scenes is a little bugged and seems too detached from the gameplay to make the story flow.
Some great characters, to the point I'm sad they have such limited content.

Not sure if anyone else reported this bug or not, but I just got it so I figured I'd share.

I was at the second boss fight (the "Destroys all of reality if not defeated" solo enemy) with Emma as my main girl. She had the ability that reduces monster attack/hp by 1/3rd of her attack and hp. This pushed the boss enemy to -1 attack. All my girls attacked once and got it down to like 60-ish hp, but then when the boss attacked the game instantly cut to the game over cutscene. I can't imagine it could be for any other reason than the game not being set to handle enemies with negative attack values.
