What is a video editor?
Indeed, taking the trailer down (rather than simply fixing it) strikes me as incredibly lazy on Critical Bliss' part. Someone with the ability to make that trailer easily has the ability to tweak the 'Out Now' to say whatever they want. If I were Mirthal I'd feel pretty disappointed with them as a publisher already by now...

This is from Mirthal's twitter post.
I get a feeling someone is trying to lame damagecontrolling by justifying another "filthy pirates ruin games" excuses. Interesting, he picked up that one highly questionable thing, not a few dozens of "what's with misterious release delay" thing.
So next thing I expect is to lick devs ass by redirecting all the blame on that "highly toxic pirate community".
Classic.
Meanwhile, november is almost over and there is still no release. Definitely that's our doing. Yo-ho and pint of rum.

Isn't it one more reason NOT to remove trailer?
That was the publisher, right? They might've done that with his input. I don't know what happens behind the scenes. I mostly just asked that since I was sure Mirthal had posted a receipt that the ball is in steam's park right now.

I can't even open the steam page, so I can't really check anything on my end.

I can't remember a similar shitshow release, even accounting for the release of future fragments :BootyTime:.
There's always been delays and botched, buggy releases, but never seen a release not happening because steam requested a last check and not delivering deadlines on an already set date on steam's own platform.

I know there's a communication between the dev and patrons that allow us to see behind the curtain on theses releases, but I don't remember this happening before in any game I followed/bought.

Are people upset because they don't believe that it's Steam holding things up?
I'm sure some are, it has to be said that steam states it can take 3-5 business days to check a game. There's no way a publisher like CriticalBliss didn't account for that and some possible delays in the review process. If I'm not mistaken, they submitted the final build sometime on the 22nd, might be wrong about this, though. However if it's true, yesterday was the fifth day. It's possible steam is also to blame on this one, but if Mirthal and the publisher was really upset, they could always just release the game on itch and patreon.
I'd say after a full week of waiting, it'd be the reasonable thing to do, because it seems like a lot of people are getting angry/indifferent, so it's definitely at least a minor hit to the hype.
Then again, I'm not the one trying to publish the game.

They did indeed, the full timeline is as follows:

Nov 15th - Aurelia's original confirmed release date
Nov 22nd - The delayed release date, when Mirthal submitted the build to Steam
Nov 29th - 5 working days of Steam review have passed, and Steam 'should' have (most likely) finished their review

Didn't the tweet show it was awaiting approval since Nov 19th?

He can easily it at any time on patreon. He has earned hundreds of thousand dollars already on patreon. Who ever was interested is already a member and has accumulated more than 20 dollars to earn a steam key.

But he choses not to, because he knows he can get away with it since he always been getting away with it.

3 working days from the 19th = 22nd, the delayed release date.
regardless, we are still waiting.
not that I'm too worried, as I have plenty to occupy my time with, just means Mirthal ain't getting my money until the actual steam release (or failing that, Itch.io).

It might have to be pushed back to 2026 release date. Please understand.
By the time when (IF) Steam gives it a green light Mirthal might decide that he is not truly satisfied with the game's current state and needs to either give it another quality pass before release...or remake it from scratch.

translation of that tweet
"dear dev, look at those evil bad people that badmouth you. For sure they are the reason why game was not accepted by Steam! I bet they reported your amazing work and this caused more work for Steam staff!!!"
...
...
"please send me early access of game via DM, I'm totally big fan. Luv you"

If Mirthal is considering early release on itch, as he's stated he is, I think the time has come. We waited the whole week. We waited ANOTHER whole week. And that's not counting the months of delays pre-official release date.
